While coyote brown, they are not dyed IAW regulation... or I got sent the wrong pair. Amazingly comfortable and true to size these are perfect - unless you don't want to be stopped and asked why you you bought desert. I also bought Lowa boots. Double the price, true to color, size and more rugged/sturdy. These would be a great backup and garrison boot if not for the color.

    • Response from TacticalGear.com

Thanks for the feedback, Lisa. Yes, unfortunately, these are not AR 670-1 Compliant, however we do carry several boots that meet regulation. If you'd like any recommendations for something similar for military use, please contact our customer relations team and we'd be happy to help!

This boots are soft and very comfortable. I can road march all day on these and have them for over a year and still feel good. I wish they come in the darker color to wear with the OCPs.

I like the boots, except for a minor flaw in the bootlace eye sockets, one seems to be raised a little, they look and feel good.

Though I have only had these boots for 2 weeks, doing a 25 mile hike on day one would have been no problem on the feet. Very comfortable, lite weight and do not overheat the feet. If they hold up as good as they feel I will definetly be getting more.

I ordered the desert tan boots and love them! These boots feel like tennis shoes and I do a lot of walking (miles) in them. If you're looking for a comfortable boot that looks good, this is the one. Best out there.

I had the same boots for three years, I was wearing them all day almost every day. I've decided to buy new pair. It was almost perfect - at least the right boot, feels like left boot tries to twist my foot in two directions at the same time - it's painful after one hour walking. Something very wrong with the left boot. I guess, i really had a bad luck to get uncomfortable 5.11 boots.

I've owned many pairs of 8" boots in my life in many different environments. No boot ever felt as comfortable, light weight, breathable, and well padded as these. I'm going OCONUS and will be in rough terrain but am looking forward to these new, tough and comfortable boots to cut down on foot strain, Achilles' tendon over stretch and to give me excellent traction in the dirt, mud or on the rocks. I bought these with my own money. They are well worth the price.

    • would be a great garrison boot.
      Reviewer: Engineer

      10/29/2013

Let me start off by saying I love this boot and the only reason I didn't give them a 5 is cuz of the environment I am in. Like I said in my headline "a great garrison boot". I had mine for almost 4 months now and I am deployed to Afghanistan. The issue boots aren't too bad but hot as all hell. So I was looking for a pair that would be cool on the feet and light weight. Check perfect match. But durability is questionable. Now I read other reviews saying ppl had them in Afghanistan and they were great and I read others that say they didn't hold up on long road marches .... well who ever said they would hold up in Afghanistan must have been a FOBit. Getting in and out of the MAXXPRO's alone was tearing up the soles. I have to replace the laces cuz they have ripped on me from constant rough wear. The sides near the front is starting to blow out. But like any pair of boots I use on deployment, I will wear them till the soles fall off or till the winter time starts. But as far as deployment boot, unless you are a FOBit, probably don't buy (you can make your own decision as did I) but for garrison go for it, great weight, breathable, I am actually considering buy a pair for my civilian job (I work as a Corrections Officer). But overall, if you are gonna beat feet on deployment, not very good. For garrison, A plus!

These boots are comfortable right out of the box. No blisters or break-in here. I also used the Level 2 sock. Together this is a mighty cushy system. I might recommend a 1/2 size longer for the boot. If it doesn't work, wear 2 pairs of socks.

    • Just wore these for 106 straight hours
      Reviewer: Doc Slice

      6/17/2012

I just wore these boots for 106 straight hours. I got them last week, wore them for one day to ensure a proper fit, then put them back on when our squadron stepped off on an FTX. The only thing currently wrong with my feet is lots of fuzz from my socks. (when I say 106 hours I mean I didn't even have time to change socks) These boots kept my feet dry in the heat, and were stable enough to keep me from rolling an ankle despite running around on head sized rocks wearing NOD's, and carrying near to 100lbs of tactical/medical gear. They are good to wear for long ruck marches, but also deliver the speed and agility needed to assault a town. The only issue I had with them was the squeaking, which will most likely go away with breaking them in, and wearing of the non-reflective finish on the rivets, which is purely aesthetic.

Haven't worn a military boot in years (mid-late 90s) and feel like I've never stopped wearing them due to the comfort. No break-in required, comfort and support from day 1, and look/feel great in any situation. Would have no problem taking these into any theatre of operation. As happy to wear as casual as well as in any other activity. They are a great boot. Thanks 5.11!
