A friend and myself were issued these boots our first year of ROTC; we are in our third year now. The boots are heavy, not flexible, and overly stiff leather. I wore them through several Raider events and various PT training exercises. I developed a hot spot on the back of my heel because of the stiff leather, and foot pain from not having enough flexibility ( note that I have tough feet from years of soccer and running unlike most people. )
Overall; the boots are overpriced and are painful to put through any real training.
Thank you for reading.
Lot of dough for short life span.

I bought a pair of these boots, and they did not even make it through the break in period. The leather around the heal ripped before the soles even showed any signs of wear. I would not waste my money.
About Altama 3LC Mil Spec
The Altama Mil Spec is tailored to the specific needs of military and law enforcement agents. Each boot is nine inches tall and features a Panama sole pattern. Genuine Cordura and suede uppers are durable, but soft enough to allow the foot and ankle to flex when needed. The padded collar adds to the comfort and the midsole features a heat barrier, which comes in handy when marching on hot surfaces. The combat boots are particularly well suited to warm weather, since they feature CoolMax lining and removable inner soles. Made in the USA, the boots are made for those who fight and defend this nation.
Altama is a leading provider of Mil-Spec boots for the U.S. Department of Defense. Founded in 1969, the Georgia-based company got its start by equipping soldiers with olive drab jungle boots during the Vietnam War. Four decades later, it continues to supply U.S. Military, federal, state and local agencies, military schools, police and Special Forces with aggressive, top-of-the-line footwear. In 2003, Altama gained more fans when it was the first to introduce its Original Ripple Sole Boots for civilian use. These combined elements provide the versatile support soldiers require when on duty in various types of environments.
