  • 1 out of 5 For years I have been buying Altama boots, but they went out of business and not the boots are crap. Altama was made in the USA now these rip off come from some country that does not know how to make good boots. If you order a pair, plan on returning them. Good luck to all those looking for a REALLY good boot.
We're sorry that the boots aren't working out for you. If you need any suggestions on boots that are made in the USA, our customer relations department would be happy to assist. - TacticalGear.com

  • 4 out of 5 Received in a timely manner. (thank you) wished other companies would do so as expected they should. Boot is very light. Fit well or as I hoped it would. Ordered my size in a boot. Foot ware are like clothes. I need to try them on before I buy. I took a chance and they fit just fine. 1st day I wore for an hour, 2nd day 3 hrs. 3rd day 5 hrs. 4th day 5 hrs. 5th day all day. I recommend a break in period on any boot. You do not want to push the issue or you may regret it and most likely not like the foot ware. I like this boot. Great ankle support. Many compliments. Being dessert tan, I expect them to get dirty fairly quickly. I live in south east Va. I will do my best to take care of them so they take care of me. The color should not absorb the heat and sun like a darker color might. Should keep some what cooler. I walk an average of 4 to 5 miles a day at work. No issues so far. I believe they will form and fit even better as time goes on. These are not made for construction or ditch digging. Though you could. I expect they would only last a few months in that profession. Even a red wing boot would only last 10 months in that environment. Most foot ware has a special intention for it's build. If you want a summer boot for general purpose then these are it. Have not had them to long so I cannot tell you about ware and tear. Seems like they will last. That's why I only gave 4 stars. Some people complained of the laces being to short. These are plenty long. They will wrap around the boot once laced all the way up. These were on clearance so I thought I would try them and I should of gotten another pair in black but my size sold out. My boots are a size 10 (M). Hope this helps someone on making a decision on there boot purchase.

  • 5 out of 5 This boot is the most comfortable boot I've worn. Great for mountainous terrain, and relatively warm. Great ankle support, and the laces are tough. Short break in period, meets ARMY regs. This boot is definitely worth trying.

  • Not Durable, fell apart

  • 2 out of 5 Though light and comfortable these things fell apart in 4 months in Kandahar. The lace eyelets got chewed through by the laces and then the side stitching on the boot cloth blew out. I was not on patrol, I'm an ofice guy and walking around is too much for these. They are made in China piles of crap.

  • 5 out of 5 Bought Jan 2013 specifically for 26mi ruck march in New Mexico desert in March. Outperformed my best expectations. Excellent cushioning, stability, fit. Worked well with knee high compression socks with nylon under-liner. Not sure they will hold up in daily rugged use, but they were the next best thing to running shoes for my event. No break-in required for me. If you have orthotics, don't remove the insole - buy a little bigger boot. Good ruck-runner. A more flared heel sole might have helped for the sand but overall perfect for me.

  • 2 out of 5 I waited quite a while for these to come in and was very disappointed. I love my Altama Jungles and was looking for a boot made with the same quality but with a little more comfort. I stayed with Altama thinking they were going to be just as well made. WRONG! I swear to you these reminded me of knock offs you would find in Asia. Yes they are a little more comfortable but made with cheap materials. If you're looking for quality, this specific Altama boot is not it.
