Do not Fit the Glock Model 21 .45 Cal Double Stack
Reviewer: willgo | Clayton, ID
I purchased two of these Blackhawk Double Stack Mag. Cases and a set of rails for attaching them to my CQC Drop Leg Platform. Like all the Blackhawk gear I have they are well made and fit nicely to the harness. The only drawback to these is that all though the ad says they support a varity of magazines sizes, the packaging they come in says they fit 9mm & .40 Cal. Magazines. They do not fit the double stack .45 cal. Magazines for the model 21 Glock.
Although a .45 magazine can be forced into the holder it is such a tight fit that getting the magazine out in a tactical situation when speed is required is next to impossible. To solve this problem I had to remove the tension springs, which are attached to the holders by two small Phillips head screws, to get the magazine to fit. This however required further modification by carefully snapping the spring off the top piece that secures the spring to the holder (using a pair of needle nose pliers) as the top piece prevents the holder from sliding down the rial.
The .45 double stack magazines fit tight enough in the holders without the tension spring to keep them in place and prevent loss but are still easy enough to remove.
