These boots are very comfortable. Easily broken-in in a couple hours. Third day I wore them was an 18-hour day with very little foot fatigue.
Worth every cent
Bought my first pair 3 years ago put them through every type of environment that feet could suffer including standing in slush water for hours and feet where dry and comfortable, So I went out and purchased 3 more pairs...
I purchased these for work. As a C.D.C.R. Correctional Officer I do a lot of walking/running on concrete and uneven landscape. I needed a boot that was built well and was comfortable. The break-in period was not pleasant. I do not recommend wearing these for more than four hours when you first put them on. I would recommend rubbing the upper half of the boot with baby oil and work it. They are extremely stiff when right out of the box. It took over a week to loosen them up just by walking in them. If you do not soften the top by working it or with oil they will cause bruising on your calf's. After being broken-in, these are a comfortable boot but could use more padding in the sole. They are great for cold weather and hot weather. I have had these for over six months and have put them through hell and they are still holding up strong. I would recommend purchasing a pair of very well made gel inserts.
Boots Are Nice, Warm
This boot is not much heavier than other boots in the similar style, but it is bigger/heavier than a non-insulated boot. Very nice when the temperature drops. Haven't had it in too much water/deep snow but so far no complaints on the waterproof part. I looked around for "work/tactical" boots that were insulated and these seem to be a good deal. Non metallic hardware was a must for me and these certainly are.
Very light and well constructed
I am pleased with the decision to go with these boots. They feel great on my feet, are extremely light, and provide running shoe cushioning. It takes a good 2-3 days to break them in. The insulation is very effective, and are great for outside work in the cold climates with nothing more than socks. Traction is aggressive. Great in snow and wet ground, and does an impressive job on ice with less slippage than anticipated. I don't have enough time to say, but my concern is the softer/aggressive soul is not going to wear long. I went with a 1/2 size smaller than normal, but my normal width and the fit is perfect.
