NOTE: These boots run true to size, so there is no need to order a size up or down.

Measure both feet. If one foot is slightly larger than the other, select a size that fits the larger of the two. Consider the type of socks you'll be wearing with your boot. For thicker socks, you may want to select a half size larger than you normally wear. When you do receive your boots, we recommend first wearing them indoors for a few hours to ensure they’re the right fit.

    • Comfortable, but poorly packaged.

I had bought more than one pair of these for a friend of mine over the years, and he sung their praises on how comfortable they were. I finally decided to get a pair for myself, and for the most part I'm happy to agree! However, I had to dock some points for a couple of reasons. First, when the boots came to me, whoever stuffed them with paper damaged the lining of the left boot. It was bunched up at the heel. Wearing them is molding everything back into place, but I'm worried that this QA oversight may have impacted their overall durability. Second, they're a touch on the snug side, and I can only wear thin cotton socks with them rather than the thicker, padded socks I usually wear. Hopefully they'll break in just fine, but if you don't get a chance to try them on in a store first and you wear thicker socks, consider going a half size larger and/or a wider width (though my feet are already wide, so I couldn't go any wider). Absent of those two issues, I would certainly recommend these boots.

I had purchased these boots while I was in the military stationed in Fort Bragg, NC back in 2009. I am still wearing the same exact pair as a contractor in Afghanistan this present day 2013. These boots are amazing and I recommend these everytime someone asks me about them.

These are one of the best pair of danners I have owned. The break in time was days instead of weeks. I can stand in them all day and feet still feel good.

    • Poor Sole Material

Great fit and comfort... These things fit like a glove and were very comfortable. So why only 2 stars JW? Well I'm glad you ask. The soles on these $150 boots lasted just over 3 months. Danner designed these for Soldiers and they failed us.

Bought these boots because all my issue boots fell apart and the Blackhawks i found simply didnt last. Id always been told Danner was the best so i put them to the test, Bought them on friday and on saturday i wore then on my climb up Pikes Peak.I covered 12 miles non stop up the trial to the mountains top and didnt experience any discomfort. No hotspots or blisters! In the months since then they still feel awesome and have held up nicely.

    • Very High Quality Boots
      Reviewer: CE

      8/19/2011

I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality construction of these boots. As an Engineer, I needed the safety toe and desired the water proof lining. I've only had them 1 week, but the comfort and quality of these boots are worth the extra money compared to the boots we are issued for deployments or the ones that are typically sold in MCS around the world. Recommended directly from Danner, Inc through AAFES. They appear to be built to last longer than any other tan or green boots I've seen in the past 19 yrs. These are the first green boots I've bought and I still prefer the tan, but I will order another pair since this color will soon be mandatory for wear in ABU's.

I work at a paper mill and we walk through black stock, which has liquor in it and the soles didnt hold up. Its hard to find a boot that does hold in that condition though. Other than that they are a great boot and I would recommend them to some one in a differrent line of work.

I wear my boots for 16-18 hours a day here in Iraq. Most Air Force Issued boots really bother my feet. I broke down and bought these boots. They are a little thicker than the regular desert hot weather boot, but that is fine as even with the extra thickness my feet don't sweat that much. Gore-tex is worth it. Great in water and mud. Comfortable from day one. No breaking in required. Can walk, stand, work in them all day. Besides all of that the only TFX boots with non-metallic safety toe, which is a requirement for me. Will never wear another pair of boots again.
