      Reviewer: Jake

      8/8/2017

The Garment T8 has been my favorite work boot since my first pair in 2010. I have since gone through 4 pairs (I'm extremely rough on them in the Army) and this one being my 5th. I am however slightly disappointed in this recent pair. The boot seems fine in and of itself, it's the laces that I believe have changed. They are now much "fluffier" and have added bulk. Thereby making lacing/tying a bit more of a task. Other than that, they are awesome.

I thought I got a good boot, all hype. The sole separated on the right boot near the toe after only two months of light wear. Only took out on a light Ruck once or twice. Highly disappointed.

      Reviewer: Steve

      7/20/2017

Fantastic service. The boot seems to be very well made and I'm super disappointed that I couldn't keep it but these things are made way too narrow. Tried both the regular and wide versions of this boot and found that if you have wide feet you need to look elsewhere.

    • Response from TacticalGear.com

I'm sorry to hear that, Steve. If you need some recommendations on similar footwear with wider options, please don't hesitate to reach out.

      Reviewer: Preston

      7/18/2017

These boots are absolutely amazing. I just put them on a couple minutes ago and they are already a beautiful fit. Theres no need for me to break them in at all. The insole is very comfortable and provides a good amount of cushioning, and the outsole is very sturdy but also gives just a tiny bit with each step, which actually helps a lot with softening the blow when you run, and also taking the pressure off your legs. The shoe breathes pretry well and it's in the sweet spot where it's hard enough to support your calf and ankle but soft enough to not squeeze you too much. I would recommend 100%. The only tiny downside is that it's just a little tight over the bridge of the foot initially.

This is my second pair of these and they're great. No need to break them in and they last forever. I had my last pair for four years. They survived a deployment and air assault school among regular wear and tear. I had to get coyote brown because the army can't make up their mind on what uniform to use

I've work these boots once and they're great so far! Every other pair of boots I've worn give me horrible blisters and these didn't give me any....takes hardly any time to break them in. Lastly, these run NARROW. Not excessively, but enough for a woman's foot, and they run very close to the Army standard issue as gas as size goes. Highly recommend.

    • Slight changes to an old reliable
      Reviewer: JT

      5/6/2017

I've been wearing the desert sand version of these for years. First impressions with the new coyote version are they come up one eyelet higher, they run slightly narrower, and weirdly the laces are poofier. I like the added height because my pants would fall out of the top on the regular. I don't have any of my old boots to compare the width so maybe it's because these boots are brand new and my old ones were well broken in. The "poofiness" of the laces are kind of weird. The old ones stayed flat no matter what. These ones feel more "hollow" if that makes sense. When you squish them in from the edges they deflect like a straw would. Despite the changes, I would buy these again in a heartbeat. For those that liked these in the past you'll like the "new" version.

I went to Infantry transition course with a pair of old ripple soles and my feet were thrashed after our 12 miler. but i did notice is that everyone who had a pair(quite of few actually) of these said their feet were just fine. so what did i do.. i order a pair and the day i got them i went on a 3 mile hike with a 55 lbs pack in the foot hills. i had a slight tender spot on the side of my foot but thats due to my abnormally wide feed. within the week they fit my foot like it was molded for it. my wife loves hers as well. sizing; i normally wear a 9.5W in casual shoes, 8.5W in army boots. i ordered a 9W in these and they fit perfect.

I spent 9 years in the army (2007-2016). Ive used the nike combat boots, standard issue, and a few other brands. Been to Air Assault School and did the Germany Proficiency Badge each one had about a 12 mile ruck run. This is the only boot that I've had that didn't give heel blisters or bottom blisters for me. Also never had to break it in. Good to go out of the box. I highly recommend these.

I was in the market for some hiking boots and wanted to spend the money on something durable and functional. E.G. I don't like having to buy pairs of new shoes every year. Then I thought why not boots approved for use in combat? After doing some research these seemed to fit the bill, well made, not cheap but not $300+. So I decided to pull the trigger. The price on tactical gear.com was less than any other retailer, the boots shipped quickly and arrived on time. They're great boots. Very solidly made. They're warm but not too hot. They don't feel super heavy to me. I have a 10-year old pair of magnum high techs that these are replacing and these are lighter. I've only walked about 5 miles in them but so far they're a great mix of comfort and toughness. They still feel a little stiff but I'm sure that'll work itself out. So far very pleased and I would recommend these boots.

If you're looking for a good comfortable boot that's light weight but can still handle rough terrain and still look good in garrison, this is the boot for you. They take a little while to break in and are a little tough to clean but I've been wearing my T8s for about 3 years now and I absolutely love em. Good in the cold and even better in the heat. I've even done a some runs and rucks in them with no issues. The only reason why I plan on buying a 2nd pair so soon is to have the coyote pair to match the OCP uniform.

I came from wearing McRae's 12W, Style 4189 Desert Boots as a comparison to the Garmont. I needed new boots, and I was wanting to try something different, something a little lighter in weight. Using a digital postal scale, these Garmont' came in at 3lbs 4 oz pair and are lighter in weight by 10 ounces per pair over the McRae's which came in at 3lbs 14oz pair. The Garmont' out of the box are more comfortable for "break in" than the McRae' as well. I purchased the 12W for the Garmont as recommended. I wish I had bumped it up a 1/2 size though for a little more toe room though to match the McRae' 12W. The width for my feet ( big and flat ) is right on however. It is winter time here in Northern Arizona and with a medium 100% wool sock from REI these boots are comfortable with temps in the mid 20's at night. The one gripe I have and it is minor, and can be fixed easily, is the type of boot lace that comes with the Garmont. One of the reasons I enjoy my McRae desert boots is that they are so quick to lace and unlace! I only have 10 miles on these Garmonts, but so far they are worth the purchase price to try something different. I am liking these so much I am considering buying another pair but in a 12.5 W as a winter boot that can be worn with heavier wool socks. My McRae's were good for over 900 miles, let' see how long these Garmont's hold up.

I got a pair of these boots back in July/August and they felt pretty darn good. They had been workin up until recently when I noticed my right boot was bothering me right about at the ball of my foot. I took the insole out of the boot to inspect what was botherin me and I noticed that the inside of the boot had cracked in half! It is completely separated. I have no idea how this happened, but I can't wear them anymore because it hurts to walk. It has only been 3 or 4 months. That's not long enough for somethin crazy like that to happen. Guess ill go back to my Mcrae Panama boots.
