It all began 90 years ago in a small village in Germany. This is where sons and apprentices of shoemaker Johann Wagner expanded their father's business vision and incorporated new shoemaking methods such as double stitching. Quality materials, innovations and craftsmanship continue to be a big part of Lowa footwear today. The eco-conscious European company produces a vast selection of long-lasting footwear for hiking, trail running and tactical applications. With the development of technologies such as an automatic-centering tongue and a lightweight Monowrap construction, Lowa footwear continues to stand its ground as true innovator and a leader in top notch footwear.

A Heavy Duty Boot for Heavy Duty Work
Reviewer: Champ | Ft. Benning, Ga
I purchased the Lowa Uplanders before going to Ranger School at the end of 2012. Let me tell you that these boots are tanks. 2 cycles of Darby and 1 in the Mountains during the Winter and there is barely a scratch. They have excellent ankle support and the ankle cutout prevents rubbing.
While there are few things wrong with the boot, I will address several issues. The boots have a considerable break in time (1-2 weeks). I never used the boots in Florida phase, but it does take them awhile to dry. If you operate in wet environments I would suggest another boot.
