- Springing from Hi-Tec Sports, Magnum's birth was a result of a request from the FBI for lightweight, athletic black tactical boots in the early 1980s. Reminds me of when I had to break-in my first paair of combat boots when I was in the Army in 1982-86 & 87-96. Very easy break-in period and light weight system.
