Out of the box and on my feet. I wear merino wool socks. Fairly comfortable not as stiff as regular issue boots. I love the lining, its smooth no lumps or bumps to make hot spots,(lining durability only time will tell, this is where Oakley dropped the ball for me). I wear 13.5 and it is true to size with these moderate season wool socks, so you might want to bump up a half size if wearing wool and liner. (dont forget foot swell with long force march). These are NOT tennis shoes so dont expect tennis shoes! The sole is flexible and it seems to absorb shock pretty good. I have heard they aren't water proof so expect wet feet, however Rocky rep says they are "quick to drain". (I highly doubt you will have dry feet as it is suggested "walk them dry" yeah right. So good foot hygene and changing socks are still the P.O.D. hope this helps.

I have worn these boots in rugged conditions of Afghanistan, at altitudes of 7200 and higher, currently the temperature has been down to the low 20s and these with regular combat socks have been more than sufficient, will wait until it gets colder to wear more often. Love these boots.

My husband loves the Rocky brand, and this pair didn't disappoint. He works outside in North East where there's 5 feet of snow in the winter, and the boots keep his feet dry & warm all day.

Best darn boot ever worn by my ruck running feet!. No break in time, feels like I got a pair of tenni shoes on.Great ankle support quick lace, awesome dry time and some great grippies. Looks like I found the last pair of boots Ill ever wear.
