    • Light, durable and stable for the most demanding trails, the XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 GTX has a streamlined profile and great durability with a new outsole design, plus the year round climate comfort of Gore-Tex. A breathable and quick-drying open mesh upper keeps feet comfortable during any trail run. Pull your shoes on and off with ease by using the asymmetrical Quicklace system made from durable Kevlar fibers. Sensifit wrap the foot with a secure fit and a gusseted tongue helps keep debris out of the shoe. Composed of anti-bacterial material, the OrthoLite sockliner reduces odor and moisture while adding cushion directly underneath the foot.

Located in the heel, 3D Comfort is made from a composite foam designed to attenuate heel strike energy. Energy Cell 2 is a full-length composite foam designed to attenuate heel strike energy and provide increased energy return. Pronation Control, located at the medial midfoot, is a higher density foam designed to reduce overpronation. 3D Stability is sandwiched between 3D Comfort and the Energy Cell midsole. It is a thermoplastic device engineered to aid in heel to toe transition while reducing lateral movement. 3D Protection is located in the heel and is a thermoplastic unit designed for heel stability. Full-length Strobel last is intended to give additional support. Designed for increased traction over varying terrain, the Contagrip outsole will keep you on track.

    • 5 out of 5 I'm not a trail runner, but I like to have nice shoes to wear everyday, or whenever I'm out in the woods (every weekend). These fit great, and I love the fact I don't have to dodge puddles to keep my socks dry.

    • 5 out of 5 Comfort and styling are par none, they are a little warm for summer but not terrible as far as durable I have yet to see, took my first run in them with 100lb weight vest they gave me no issues what so ever, sure to be great for trekking and I wish all shoes had this lacing system just a little unsure of how they are to be replaced in the event they fail... Sounds simple but you'll have to see the laces to understand, Other than that I would highly recommend them

    • 5 out of 5 I bought these two weeks ago and I have already put many miles biking in them, just did the McKenzie River trail this weekend on my mountain bike and these shoes held up to the lava rock punishment really well. I honestly thought I was going to see way more damage on them after the ride, but they took every hit well. These shoes are comfortable and offer great arch support for riding. They also survived climbing around on lots of jagged lava rock for a few hours no worse for the wear. So far, I am satisfied, and glad I gave Salomon a try.

    • 5 out of 5 These are simply the best sneakers I've ever owned! Incredibly comfortable (no need fo insoles), fits like a glove, totally waterproof. Not for the summer though, since they are a bit warm. Perfect for the fall and winter. It will keep you dry and warm. I also have the XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX boots, perfect for the snow. I'll keep buying them until they stop making it.

    • A hard shoe

    • 2 out of 5 This is a well-made, tough shoe. I generally like Salamon shoes - I have a narrow heel and a low-volume forefoot and Salamons are built on a last close to my foot. However, there are two major problems with this shoe that I find make my feet hurt after an hour of running or even hiking. There is minimal shock-absorption under the heel but particularly under the head of the metatarsals. Unlike my other shoes, and despite my replacing the insoles with custom orthotics with good shock-absorbing qualities, the bottoms of my feet are twice as sore as with other trailrunning shoes. Part of the problem is the Kevlar-type laces. Unlike nylon or polyester laces, they have no "give" at all - which means that the shoe doesn't accommodate the slight bulging of your foot with every footfall. This increases the downward stress on the metatarsals, making the lack of shock-absorbency even more acute. I've had them long enough I can't return them, but if I could, I would, and then try another pair of Salamon shoes.

    • 5 out of 5 My only complaint with these shoes is they are narrow fitted and I have a wide foot (E to EE); I suppose the narrow design is one of the European made characteristics. When I bought them I had to go with one full size larger to compensate for the narrowness. Otherwise, these shoes are great. I just wore these shoes on a one day (15 hour) Rim 2 Rim (R2R) thru-hike at the Grand Canyon. If you've every done the R2R (Kaibab trail) you know the trail is well established, but still a mixed terrain event. 23+ miles 5K feet down, 7+ miles across (August hike- very hot), and finally 6K feet up and out of the canyon. These shoes worked great. At first I debated between wearing these or my GTX hiking boots; glad I went with these. My feet never got overheated, no blisters, and ankle support was superb. These shoes are on my keeper list now; in fact, just bought a pair of Solomon's water shoes. I highly recommend these shoes.

    • Great backpacking shoes

    • 5 out of 5 Abandoning my decades-old mountain boots, I bought these shoes for day-hiking and backpacking, the idea being to go lighter and faster. I have put quite a few miles on them. I've just returned from a 10-day backpack (without resupply) in the North Cascades. These were the most comfortable footwear I've ever used for backpacking. My feet never got sore, never a blister or any other problem. I was worried that the relatively thin sole and light weight might cause foot pain with heavy loads. The opposite was the case. The massaging action of rocks underfoot seemed to improve circulation and prevent pain. The fast lacing was great for going in and out of the tent. They don't edge like a mountain boot, though, so not so good for steep cross country or snow work. But fine for trails, even trails in poor condition.

Many veterans struggle to find purpose at home without the structure, mission and camaraderie of a military unit. The Mission Continues is the only national nonprofit challenging post-9/11 veterans to rebuild purpose through community service. The organization empowers veterans to serve once again in their communities through a 28-week service fellowship at a nonprofit organization. Their Fellowship Program is reshaping the way this country welcomes home our veterans by showing that these men and women are tremendous assets whose leadership and skills can be vital to their community’s improvement. By empowering them to serve as civic leaders, their service gives them purpose and strengthens their communities.
