About Thorogood

Back in 1892, Wienbrenner Shoe Company started out as a cobbler building boots for "jobbing" trades. As the demand of safety footwear grew, so did the need for more specialized boots that catered to the needs of specific industries. The Thorogood brand was officially introduced in 1918 as a maker of work boots dedicated to particular occupations. Durable to down to the sole, Thorogood footwear strives to create products for those employed in the military, tactical and other labor-intensive fields. The boots offer lasting support with composite shanks and a two-density rubber outsole with integrated EVA impact pads. Thorogood's boots work just as hard as the people wearing them.

I have had these boots for less than 8 months. At first they were very comfortable and I enjoyed them. I am in them about 25 hours over the weekends standing. At about 4 months I noticed the soled wearing out and bubbleing in the middle. At 6 months they started to become quite uncomfortable and I kept trying different insoles. At 7 months they were put on a shelf and I had to purchase new Bates. They DO offer excellent slip resistance but I couldn't bear wearing them anymore. I havent ever had a boot get that uncomfortable that fast. And the soles should not wear down so fast IMO.

Have had my boots since 06 and still going strong. I bought my son a part of the exact same ones in Dec 11 and he loves them as much as I do.
