Atlanco may have started as a small, regional distributor of military surplus items, but it would eventually grow to be one of the leading clothing manufacturers in the industry. Although the company continued to buy and sell military surplus, the Atlanco brand became known throughout the public safety sector. In 1996, the company's leaders realized the need for an ambitious, functional approach to military and law enforcement apparel. They created Tru-Spec. The name displays its commitment to only producing gear and apparel that meets U.S. government "true specifications" of utilizing mil-spec fabrics. Designed to perform, Tru-Spec is trusted by operators throughout the world.

I got two of those in gen 1 and 2 for universal use on farmin in cold wet for whole fall and winter time so I could find most useable coat for that conditions at all. I had already run at it comparing with lit apecs suit and it is still better with some equipment for wildfife observe. at least cause of my obsesion I sold both to became less laminated for work and NEED this superior jacket back.
cobras hood is really balanced for good hearin and wide perifer angle than gen 2.
litwags, possible to say wetproof(in storm several drops passed through in most sleeved points after 3 hours), breathability, SOLID and made in china.
MADE IN CHINA

If you are expecting this coat to perform like your military issue ECWCS you will be dissapointed. If you are expecting this coat to perform like a $100 coat you will be dissapointed. Its not Gor-tex its a thinner more flimsy material first of all, but I could even over look that part. It fits like a cheap suit and the biggest thing the ECWCS had going for it was the great fit. It offers restricted movement fro your arms when reaching or bending over. The zippers are defective junk which snagged up and then came off the track the 3rd time I zipped on the underarm vents. The openings are smaller than the original and not very effective. This thing is MADE IN CHINA and it shows. I really wanted to like this coat but it falls short. Its more like an over priced $45 rain coat. I do believe it would perform very well at keeping you dry though. Used with the liner it would keep you warm too but those are the only good points...not worth $100.
Nice parka for price...BUT

IS warm, waterproof, windproof. But Zipper is difficult to start (possible single defect)
Biggest disappointment... MADE IN CHINA.
Do not see the word imported anywhere in product description. Would gladly pay more for domestic.

Like the previous reviewer wrote, check the sizing chart before you order. I usually wear a L or XL jacket/hoodie. I ordered an XL long in this jacket and it's a great fit. Plenty heavy for cold weather, but not bulky. The only reason I don't give this jacket 5 stars is the zipper. It is difficult to zip at times, other times, no issues. It is just like the Army 'Gore-Tex' jacket except it has a fleece liner in it. Great jacket for $100.
