Men's Vertx Phantom Lightweight Tactical Pants

I bought a pair of these in "Phantom" and a pair in the original fabric, just to compare the two. Both are fine, but I definitely prefer the Phantom for year-round wear in Alabama. The Phantoms also seem to offer more in the way of wrinkle/stain/water resistance. But whatever fabric you choose, my favorite aspect of the Vertx pants is without a doubt the in-set cargo pockets. Without the familiar flaps/straps/buttons/zippers/velcro across your thighs, these truly are tactical pants that can blend into a casual work environment without screaming "tactical pants" or "cargo pants". Phones/knives/keys can ride securely in the lower pockets with zero bulk or print, leaving upper pockets free for concealed carry or just more gear. Cargo pocket flaps are simply sewn down flat, with no fastened closure, but items are in no danger of falling out and still remain easily accessible. Cargo pocket is also subdivided to keep either large or small objects equally secure from jangling around loose as you walk. I admit I never really use the hidden zippered pocket, but I can see where it could come in extremely handy, and, like the cargo pockets, is designed to blend in and be completely unobtrusive. Since I found these pants I've gotten to where I almost never wear jeans anymore, even on my days off.

Fit and look great, very durable. I use them for everyday and work wear. Can't go wrong with these.

Awesome! I love them for everyday and work wear. They are comfortable, functional and durable....so far. After reading other reviews, I ordered a size larger than I normally wear and they fit perfectly.

This lightweight pant is not as good as original pant, I've found that mini ripstop fabric can be easily crack if stretch it, other than that is okay, size is a bit bigger just half size, no fade, Intelli-Dry works as advertised, and fast drying.

I just received three pair of these today. I ordered them for use in Afghanistan. Having read several reviews here stating they run "two inched too small in the waist", I ordere mine in a size 38 inch waist instead of the usual 36" that I wear. That was a mistake! I was swimming in them when Itried them on! I hate to say it, but I think some of my brothers in arms here don't realize they've put on some extra pounds since their last purchase. :-) I gifted the three pair to a friend this morning and am ordering more this vening in "my usual size".

I'm really digging the new Phantom LT pants. They conceal my sidearm nicely in the front pocket and fit well. Best part... they aren't cat hair magnets. Good job Vertx!

Waist is at least 2" smaller than every other pant I've worn. If you are a 34 waist, order a 36 ion Vert X.

The pants themselves are great. Love the material and quality of material. However, after wearing many pairs of the original I was disheartened to see the waist on the new Lightweights I received from LA Police Gear had much smaller waist. Not just a little that might be attributed to holiday weight gain, but at least a 2" smaller waist. I have no idea if these are fluke, since on reviewer mentioned his were 2" too big. I am going to return this pair and actually order another pair from Tactical Pants this time to see if they have the same issue. I want to love this pants but cannot even begin to wear the exact same size I wear in the original. This is very frustrating. I just wish someplace had them locally to try on first.

I bought three pairs of the new Phantom LT pants and love the material. For my work I've been wearing the original pant for almost two years. I also have the multicam pant which also feels great.
