Men's Woolrich Elite Algerian Jacket

When I first saw this jacket I thought it looked amazing and practical. When I saw the price tag I cringed. I had never owned anything made by Woolrich before. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it's design, it looks tough but doesn't fit the strictly BDU look. After it arrived I was surprised the jacket didn't cost more. The jacket allows for complete mobility and is fairly lightweight. I would recommend this to anyone. Just note that this jacket works best with layers if you are looking for warmth, it works very well on warm days when you wish to conceal carry.

I understand the half zipper, but a full length double zipper would make it a much better item. It handles a J frame very well, but that it about it. Needs a larger lower inside pocket and the inside upper pocket is placed too high. The jacket is well made, true to size and comfortable, with the exception of the collar. This is warm weather jacket only. And, it looks pretty good.

I've considered buying this jacket for quite a while, and I can't believe I hadn't done it before. This one just moved to the top of my "favorites" list.

Okay, Here's the straight skinny on this jacket, that I purchased in spite of the bad reviews. Yes, the velcro could be better, it's kinda weak, but not bad, probably will replace it... cheap fix. The jacket runs a little large unless you plan on wearing something under it, like say a sweater when it's pretty cold or maybe a ballistic vest if your situation requires it. Don't misunderstand it's not a tent or anything like that, it is a really good looking jacket. The jacket has pockets everywhere, four inside with loops for mags, one in sleeve, four visible outside in front and two hidden breast zipper pockets that are just right for carrying something the size of a ppk, makarov, just about any smallish auto without printing. My FNP-9 is just a bit big but anything smaller...no problem. If you buy the correct size the jacket is plenty long to cover what you have on your hip. The sleeves are a little longer than most, but the cuffs are adjustable, don't see a problem there but I guess some folks do. My jacket is black and it is really really black, seems like it is dyed darker than usual which is nice. This is a light weight jacket, I start wearing mine around the time that I would put on a heavy sweat shirt, say around 45F to 50F. Plenty warm down to around freezing with just normal shirt underneath. Would I recommend this jacket to a friend? You bet, already have.

I recently purchased a Woolrich Algerian Field jacket from Rogue Elite. I am a retired police detective and carry concealed a Sig Sauer P250 Compact in 45. acp. The short zipper and velcro on the Woolrich jacket facilitate a sweep to a side carried pistol. Do that with buttons! My Sig fits perfectly in the zippered chest pocket without "printing" and allows me to remove the jacket in public without alarming those around me. I have retired to Montana and 5 min on my ATV puts me in grizzly country. The second (left side) chest pocket allows me access to my pistol without removing my right hand from the throttle and coming to a stop.

Just got this. The fit is .... odd. The sleeves are abnormally long but even worse the length is very short. I'm used to a field jacket cover my bottom. This will barely cover a weapon and not if I stretch or move the wrong way. Rain, snow, bad weather, this isn't a jacket for the field. It barely covers your torso. It's also kinda tight. There's no way I could layer under this and that's important for this northern boy. I even order my jackets a size larger just to ENSURE I can layer under them but this is still too tight.
