Mission Made Soft Shell Jacket
Jacket has potential BUT I cant give 5 stars today
I came across this jacket via a security guard who works at a local store and he directed me to this website (first time buyer, I use a different website mostly) so I could buy myself one. I used to work in the outdoor industry as a materials/product buyer (Marmot Mtn Works) and this jacket caught my eye as something very useful for fieldwork in the desert where I live and work as a biologist. Having served in the USN, I appreciated the many pockets and hook and loop areas for department patches and insignia. Order was easy enough, jacket seemed robust, zippers looked good, loved the pockets and RFID, BUT, when I put it on, depressed the locking grommets and cinched up the drawstring for the waist - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzip and pop....out comes the drawstring with a tattered end hanging loose and bouncing across the floor goes the grab bead for the cord...Fortunately, I was able to retrieve it to send back with this jacket but I'm disappointed by how quickly the jacket failed (literally minutes). I'll give the jacket another try (it is otherwise a great piece of kit) but will be checking all seams and stitching EXTENSIVELY before I take it out to the field...maybe the second time will be the charm!

Fit is great, Black is a true black. The cons are that the just pockets are too high and there are no pockets for your hands. It would’ve been nice to have one chest pocket and pockets for your hands. This is truly a lightweight coat you would need a mid weight under it for cold weather. Sending back for the condor summit soft shell.

I've bought 2 of these. The first one I bought for my Woman. I was so impressed with the quality, I bought one for me. Color is a bit brighter than mil-spec but it should fade with use. They seem to be made (cut, pattern, fit) to M65 U.S. standards. Highly recommend!!! Especially for the price!!!
