Propper Poly / Cotton Ripstop ACU Coats

I took this coat out for a four mile hike, wearing my issued Aussie pack and webbing loaded up to a 3 day patrol weight. It fitted really well, and was very comfortable. When I got back, I noticed that the color had faded in certain areas where the pack rubbed against it. Haven't experienced this kind of 'friction fading' with my issued Auscam uniform shirts even after years of mistreatment. Disappointed, but would order again as I'm a repeat offender here at MilitaryGear.com.

I purchased this jacket for rough use at the range. This is my first experience with Propper brand Genuine Gear. Coloring is great, material feels that it should last a long time. Be aware that the sizing chart is VERY accurate. Im 6ft 2in 200lbs and ordered the XL3 size from the chart and it is almost too big. Body of jacket fits well and the arm length is good but are very wide at the cuff. Dont know if its supposed to fit this way or not. The velcro cuffs do have enough adjustment to get a snug fit around wrist and do stay put. Overall it is comfortable as standalone light jacket or with fleece/flannel shirt underneath will fare well in colder and windy weather.

This is a great jacket, the sizes are true, the stitching is perfect, and they are very durable. They come coated with a water-repellent that makes them a bit stiff, which I don't care for because I'd rather them be soft and quiet than water-repellent. The only reason I gave the jacket 4 stars is because the tint of the colors doesn't match the ACU style pants. I got the digital woodland pattern ACU style jacket and pants. If you compare the photos on this site of this pattern between the ACU style and BDU style, you can see a difference in tint. The difference in what I ordered is similar, but not quite as drastic. I would order again though, I expect them to both fade with wear.

Lighter weight than the BDU version, perfect for New Mexico, desert or mountains!
