Propper Poly / Cotton Ripstop BDU Pants

excellent pants. great price. great fabric. great construction. great comfort with the simple waist adjustment provided. lightweight. consistent sizing. all around high quality. love the button flaps on the legs, back pockets and fly. washes and dries well. great for tactical or casual wear. if in doubt on sizing, order a size up so you have plenty of room. for me, i ordered 2xl and it fit just right, but i wanted a little more room in the thighs and crotch so i order 3xl and used the waist adfjustment. so comfortable. simply cannot go wrong with these pants. buying more after i submit this review.

These are very good pants at a great price, they are well stitched and seem to hold up well to use. One thing I do want to point out that I did not know at the time of purchase, and is the reason for 4 stars is that these are high rise pants. On me they sit 1-2" below the belly button which is fine but it is a bit higher than I am used to, but that would be the only real fault I can find with these pants.

I have many of these in different colors, and think there great . Only negative thing I can say is that the black has faded which is a disappointment as I wear these pants to work.

I play airsoft, so I put significant demands on these pants. not as much as active duty, but enough. These pants excel indoors, but they have poor puncture resistance(AKA Thorns). I'm probably going to buy a more durable pant for field gameplay.

I've been wearing these as work pants for about 2 months and ALL of the buttons have fallen off or are falling off. The fabric has faded immensly and the pattern just looks like a blotchy green/brown. More annoyingly the fabric pills like crazy. I've never seen pants turn to fuzz so quickly. The solid-color Propper BDU pants do not do this, I don't know why this fabric is different.

So far these have been excellent pants. I've only had the chance to take them for a few quick hikes. Nothing 'tactical' as of yet, but as soon as the weather warms up a bit I will take them paintballing and shooting as often as I can. As far as the fit goes, they are a little snug about the waist (I will probably need to cold wash and hang dry). I could have returned them for a larger size but that would have made the legs far too baggy. So I kept them. Plenty of room in the crotch and legs as they are now, they allow for great flexibility and good range of motion. They are also astonishingly comfortable. So far I haven't done anything that could have torn them, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the ripstop feature. My only issue is that the button fly is a little weird to get used to if you have never used one before, it doesn't bother me now, it was just a little strange at first. I feel it should be noted, when I saw they were a cotton poly blend I was a little worried about them being noisy or 'swishy' when I walked about, but they are remarkably silent, good for stealthy movements if they need to be made. All around great pants, would highly recommend!

I am 6'3" 175 pounds. Unbloused these pants drag on the floor. I normally wear 36x36 jeans. These pants are too long for non bloused use, and probably too long even for bloused use. I am going to try to order another pair maybe medium. Waste was a tad too large. Pant legs are really baggie, top slant pockets could be deeper. Belt loops are real flimsy, maybe 1/4 inch. My bad, I didn't pay attention to the photo. The material is really nice. Crotch fits okay for me. I would really like to have seen a pocket for my android. Maybe I'll take it to my tailor and have one of the cargo pocket sewn up for my phone. I have no complaints about these pants. I'll come back in 6 months and give you an update.

I purchased a black pair at a thrift store as part of a costume at a two day shooting contest and was I ever surprised! These pants had been worn and the color was still great and the comfort was so much better than jeans I love them for the range and shooting competitions they are great for everyday wear. I hate how when jeans get wet they soak up so much moisture the Proppers are so much more comfortable when wet and dry much faster than jeans. I will be purchasing Proppers when I need new pants. By the way the button fly is much better than the button fly in my Levis

I have been using Propper pants for a very long time for both training and at the range. They are much more comfortable and lighter than most typical tactical style pants. They hold their color well and hold up well even after several harsh mud runs. Would recommend.

I was very irritated with the sizing chart, I ordered a size that the chart said would fit and I had to exchange them for a smaller size. The pants seem very tough though and I am pleased with how big all the pockets are, also with out the adjustable waist bands they would be too big so I am happy the pants have those.I ordered the khaki color and I was a little irritated about how the color of the pants are darker than the picture on the website. I will be wearing these pants hiking and I am glad that I wont have to worry about them ripping on a branch, or getting to worn out while I am dealing with stokes while being raised or lowered down banks and rocks. Although the pants are very baggy on my legs, I figured that it will give me room to put on thermals and stuff my pockets if I need to. A few people on my Search and Rescue team recommended these pants to me, and I would do the same to some one looking for good quality pants.

Not a military person but always loved the toughness of clothes made for the military. These feel like they will hold up. These pants will allow me to carry my photography gear without making carry a bag into the woods or in the urban jungle. The color options are great. For my intended use, the side adjusting buckle is metal (as it should be) which would scratch up a camera if you sling it...nothing a few small strips of fabric Velcro can't fix. So long Levi's! It's good to be wearing pants made in the U.S.A. again. My search is over.

great pants, just what i was looking for. good for any outside activity. look and feel just like the ones we wore in the military

the material was put through a really nice gauntlet. worked out with them using many movements. washed them 5 times within a week. still have no problems with them at all. the durability of the fabric has kept up with many, many kicks to a heavy bag. the flexibility is great, i was able to do many crossfit exercises with them successfully without any problems of too much tugging. the adjustable bands on the sides are really helpful, keep me feeling comfortable and keep me from looking like a gangster...or an idiot. they are comfortable to the max, great for running in the 40 degree weather without worrying too much about overheating and getting too cold. my one and only complaint is the washing instructions. it rubbed a little too much to be comfortable so i just ripped it off, easy and practical solution. I would have absolutely loved them if they had a magazine pouch on the legs but that's just me. otherwise, very good product, going to get more soon.

so far did the same thing another guy did. Warm wash + dryer on high = no problems. used them for some kick boxing practice testing the flexibility and the stretch of them, very nice flow to them. The material was very nice. few frayed seams needed clipping, but military specs are there. will make another review in about a week or so from further testing. they feel very nice.

Just got these in the mail today after ordering them on Thur. Used regular UPS ground. Excellent customer service with MiltaryGear.com. Could not ask for more perfect service. Thank you very much. These BDU pants are more than I expected. As soon as I got them I washed them in hot water and dryed them on high, just to see if the color and size would hold up. Before ordering more! They came out just the way they went in. Perfect. The material is heavy duty and feels very tuff! The color is almost an exact match to the Blackhawk riggers belt OD green. I would recomend and will be buying more. True to length/size/color/and discription. Not too baggy and not to tight. Belt loops are plenty big enough for a riggers belt. Thank you!

The Propper Poly/Cotton Ripstop BDU's are well made, and hold up to almost everything. I currently have several pairs, and have been wearing the 'Propper' brand for many years in many climates and for various applications. I am rather satisfied with this product. The only exception, or rather issue that I have with them is the material used for the inside of the front and back pockets. I believe it's a poly/cotton blend, but it can have a tendency to weaken over time and develop holes, especially if you carry lots of things. I suppose they use this material because of complaints regarding heat retention. However, years ago(and I still have a pair), Propper used the same Ripstop material for the inner pocket lining. I kind of wish, and hope they go back to that. It's far superior in it's construction, and I never noticed a difference in heat retention, even in desert environments. However, overall I find Propper to be the best available. The buttons stay on the longest, and the pockets hold up well too, considering. You can get a good year or two use out of them if you treat them right. Wash cold, and let them drip dry. They'll last twice as long, and hold their color better. I have noticed that the Ripstop poly/cotton blend dries fast too, even in more humid climates.

I bought them for work. Jeans are heavy and cotton dries horribly. I work out side and need clothing that can keep up with the weather. Love the battle rip for those reasons. I just feel that the cut is not up to standers. I wear 36x36 and a large long is jean tight. I little tighter than previous BDU's I bought. I also worry about the stitching. Time will tell! I am for the most part happy with my purchase and would do it again. I would like a wider belt loop for the center of the back.

These fit well and look great. They appear to be super durable, yet are not excessively heavy or bulky. They are cool looking enough so that I don't feel like some goober-soldier-wannabe, yet are the real deal when it comes to tactical purposes (in terms of CCW, extra magazine storage, and adaptability) and mil-spec indestructibility.

I've been wearing Propper pants for hiking, cycling, any activity where I need tough pants... and also for lounging around/casual wear. I love the number of pockets, and the fact that these pants hold up so well. My old pair is about 5 years old and still going strong!

I had been hunting around for a perfect "uniform" that was better for work than the blue jeans that I always wore. I selected BDU style slacks to test out. I tried a few colors, but having a lot of pets, hair will land on your pants. The color that works the best for me (and all my pets) is this dark grey version. I love the rip stop (Battle Rip) version because they really look good. Machine wash and dry (and they dry faster than jeans too!), fold them flat (just in half) and they look great right out of the drawer. I don't find it comfortable with my wallet in my back pocket when I need to sit down. The leg pocket is wonderful for that. I use the other one for my cell phone - spreading out the stuff I have to tote around with me all day is a blessing. While the design of the BDU's is great, the way the dark grey just kind of hides the pet hair is fantastic.

I have owned well over a dozen pairs of Poly/cotton BDU's. They are utterly amazing, My main occupation is tree work, and that is very tough on pants. They just last and last.
