  • Stay battle-ready with confidence when you sport Rocky’s latest military boot, the Rocky C5. Designed for unbeatable performance during high pressure missions, this Rocky desert tan combat boot takes the key features from the best-selling C4 Trainer and made them aggressive enough for any situation. You can’t afford to mess around when it comes to staying strong out in the field, and that's where the C5 Combat boot comes in.

The Rocky C5 boasts just 15.5 ounces per boot for incredibly lightweight performance. This is not a boot that’s going to keep you loaded down, and when you’re executing operations in high temperature environments, comfort is key.

You never know what terrain you might face, which is why you demand durable features like a triple-stitched upper and super aggressive tread for long missions. You’re not going to find a more badass military boot.

All of the comfort features that made the C4T so popular are added into the C5C, like cushioned footbeds and built-in vents to keep air circulating.

    • Weighing in at just 15.5 oz. per boot, these keep you running fast and light
    • Genuine leather construction ensures ultimate durability and strength
    • Aggressive, durable EVA outsole uses self-cleaning treads to keep mud and debris at bay
    • Strong 550 paracord laces
    • Water-resistant and fast-drying
    • EVA rubber outsole is lightweight and long living because it is made of of EVA
    • Speed laces and NATO hooks mean you can lace up your boots in record time

  • 5 out of 5 Absolutely the best pair of Rocky boots I've owned. I've had 6 pair ranging from steel toe and cold weather to these and they're light weight with amazing soles. This base has more rocks than a quarry and you can't even feel them with these boots. Awesome.

  • 4 out of 5 sizing was good. a little tight near the tongue, maybe i shouldve gotten the wide. 550 laces are a little thick for the eyelets. nice and light, wouldnt say they are ready to go out of the box but they can be worn right away. tread is good but not for rough terrain, more for garrison and prepped trails. I would recomend these

  • 3 out of 5 Absolutely nothing bad about TacticalGear - shipping was great. But as in other reviews about fit, I'm concerned about the right boot. Out of the box tried them on and no problems. Wore them for duty and the right boot, right across the arch at the tongue and laces, started to hurt and get red. By end of day was painful. I'm hoping they will break in soon as they are comfortable to walk in, except where noted. Have also bought the C4 Trainer in green and the boot is outstanding! Maybe these will be, too. Soon I hope.

  • A Good Pair of Boots with One Little Issue

  • 3 out of 5 A well fitting boot that is light weight and comfortable except..... The bottom of the tongue does have an extra piece of material that crosses the top of your foot. People who design these boots should test wear them. I am not un-happy and think I can work this out as I have been softening it up with some boot oil. It would be a great boot if they would trim this extra material back. Again, I think I can make this work.

  • 4 out of 5 This boot is very light and it almost feel like a sneaker. I used it for field training (Navy Reserves) and it was very comfortable. Also the aggresive sole helps with climbs and uneven terrain. Be aware that the boot runs on the smaller size. I usually wear a 10 Wide on the boot, I had to buy a 10.5 Wide per other reviews and was still a bit snuggly on the top by the first laces. But after 4 days it fit good, so buy it a half size bigger.

  • 1 out of 5 The boots do not fit right. The flap under tongue puts pressure on top of the foot making them unworkable. Appears to be a defect when the boot was constructed. Tactical Gear sent me another pair and it had the same issue. If Rocky would fix the problem the boots would be a great deal. Amanda from Tactical Gear. Com was very helpful during this process.

  • 5 out of 5 Tactical Gear had these boots about 30-40 percent cheaper then any other website and they arrived at my door with 2-3 days. Very pleased with how easy and simple the ordering process went. My roommate actually ordered some after he saw how fast I got mine. As for the Rockys I had the garrison C4s and they were a great lightweight boot but these have a good combination of lightweight and ruggedness. Being an MP I'm on my feet a lot these are definitely nice to have.

  • 3 out of 5 I've worn Rocky C4Ts on 1 combat tour and during CONUS training. Owned 3 pairs total. Pros: 1) I love the tread and sole of this boot. It feels like it wants to grab everything and carry you forward or stop you when you need to. 2) Definitely feels like a rugged boot that you can rely on no matter the training/real world environment. Cons: 1) The ankle didn't seem like it had much support due to the noisy and almost cracking sound of the ankle/lower calf region of the boot. 2) There was a sharp object digging into the top of my foot near the end of the boot's tongue. This could go away after awhile but that's a hit or miss there. 3) The reason I'm returning these boots: they're too big! I've always ordered a 10M and they felt like a 10.5 or 11. I've had 3 pairs of C4Ts and have always worn a 10M with zero issues with the fit. I give this a 3 but Rocky has got to get on top of these customer reviews ASAP! Most of us are military/LEO and trust that we are getting a great product. The C5 is definitely an upgrade to the C4T but it is also very apparent that Rocky was trying way too hard to outdo themselves and ended up over shooting their target. I don't know if I want to risk ordering another pair of these until the issues have been fixed.
Matt, we're sorry to hear that you aren't loving your new Rocky boots! If you would like to contact our Customer Relations team, we would be happy to see if there something we can do or if you might be eligible for a manufacturer's warranty on these boots. -

  • 1 out of 5 The place on the boot where the tongue is attached to the toe box digs into the top of your foot.I can't believe anyone wore these boots before putting them on the market.I hope this problem lessens over time.Aesthetically speaking the toe box is too big and they resemble Mickey Mouse shoes.Fabric in uppers is also very noisy.I hope they at least prove to be durable but it's too early to tell. Not impressed especially for the price.

  • 5 out of 5 A lot like wearing a comfortable running shoe. Only had them for about a week but almost no break in time and very lightweight compared to so many other boots on the market. I suggest adding a half size to your normal shoe size. That way these fit perfect. There is some noise from the nylon or Cordura sides, but that is going away as they continue to break in more.

  • 3 out of 5 I'm glad I ordered wide because they are still tight across the top of my feet. The nylon sides crinkle when you walk and are loud. It might soften up as they break in. Make them to the new Army standard. I like the 550 cord laces. Good looking boot!

  • 5 out of 5 I've always worn issued boots. I'm a big guy, and always assumed that I needed the big heavy soles for long heavy ruck matches. I've done a lot of research on lightweight boots, and the C5C seemed to be the best choice all around. After talking to a rep. at Rocky about size, then noticing a sale, I selected my size on this site. As soon as they arrived, I put them on and they fit better than any issued boot I've ever owned. I wore them on duty for one day, and decided to wear them on a 5K the next day. I ran with a pack through snow, ice, and of course concrete. I have no blisters or foot pain at all. I actually ordered another pair today.

  • 3 out of 5 I bought these Rocky C5C's thinking they were an upgrade to the C4T, but I was disappointed. As soon as I opened the box to take out the stuffed paper to try them on, I noticed 3 hard nail tips on the inside of the toe tip. I thought it was only the one shoe, but I stuck my fingers to feel the other shoe tip, and the nail tips were there as well. I tried the boots on and walked around the house to see if my toes would rub/touch these metal nodules, but didn't feel anything. I opted to go ahead and return them. Just didn't feel too confident about them. I ordered the C4T's instead. I tried them on at a local store and they felt much more comfortable. I hope Rocky pays attention to their manufacturing quality as they come up with better boots.

  • 4 out of 5 I really like the price for this boot, and the traction it provides. They are comfortable, with a little bit of break in time, and a little problem with some extra leather under the tongue that bruised my foot, but with some tape it was easily fixed. Lightweight, I can sprint in these, jump, etc, dry fast and water resistant. Great boot.

  • 5 out of 5 Due to my work, my boots have always been heavy, hand-made in the boots such as White's Smokejumper or Wesco's Firestormer and Timber boots. But I decided to try Rocky C5s for some recreational outdoor stuff. At first I was very skeptical of light weight boots being able to perform under tough, inclement conditions. After breaking them in--had to get the laces adjusted on the top of the foot--and wearing them for a week in the outback, I must admit I am pleasantly surprised on all fronts. Light weight, good traction, dry quickly, comfortable fit, and with the right socks...warm. Given their minimal materials, your sock becomes very important. Size was true in length and width. This boot is still under my review, but as of's a "thumbs-up."

The boots that I have fit like size 11W. I do not know if i will continue to buy from Rocky boots but I have to were them bc my C4T boots are no longer serviceable according to Army regulations

About Rocky

Rocky collage Beginning in 1932, Rocky Shoes sprang from the minds of two brothers who found themselves out of a job during the Great Depression. Although the company has switched hands throughout the years, its footwear has always been renowned for its durability and ruggedness. It places high value in waterproof shoes and boots that actually work. It is one of the largest customers of Gore-Tex waterproof fabric for footwear. As the first manufacturer to market an all-Cordura nylon fabric hunting boot, Rocky incorporates this technology in a number of styles. No matter their intended purpose, Rocky boots can withstand some of the harshest conditions while providing comfort and protection.
