Not very accomendating.

This particular boot was not true to being wide. The thermal properties could not handle a temperature change of 20 degrees without affecting the feet. The sole is way to soft for a tactical boot. I believe Tactical should look at the manufacturing spec.'s of the maker.
Thank you for sharing this feedback, Frank. Original Swat does stand behind their products for use in tactical environments. If you would like to contact our Customer Relations team, we would be happy to suggest some alternate styles that might better suit your individual needs.
You NEED to Scotch-Guard it!

I'm a n00b to hunting. Started October 2014 at the age of 45. I've been very impressed with these boots in all areas but one. The only ding against these boots is that you MUST give them a Scotch-Guard water-proofing treatment. I'm posting this for anyone else who gets these boots and plans to go into the mountains/field with them. When they get wet.. the wet slowly creeps thru and penetrates the leather and eventually makes it's way into the boot. (That same leather takes quite a bit of time to dry too, even with a hair dryer pointing into the boot) That issue seems to be doing Ok now that I performed a Scotch-Guard treatment on the outside of them. And truthfully isn't often an issue in SoCal. I've been brutal on these boots. I've done 14hr days of continuous trekking with large elevation change, and my tender desk-job feet seldom suffer any blistering at all in these boots. Usually only when there is a ton of steep descent. The sole pattern kicks butt for climbing up soft stuff. Ya feel like a billy goat. Not as good for descending on hard pack. Not the best on wet rocks. It's a lil hard to snap the laces into the top three eyelets when lacing up. Ya gotta be sure to snug the heck out of the tie in the laces. In the beginning get in the habit of checking the laces when you stop for a rest. With the exception of the waterproofing... so far so good!

Second pair in 4 months. The rubber part surrounding the toe and sides ripped within the first month. Second pair's material above the rubber surrounding the toe and sides is stretching on both boots. The Under Armour along with the cost, I expected MUCH more. With that said, they fit like a running shoe. Don't expect them to last though.
