I am a fan of most 5.11 products and use a lot of there stuff for duty. However, these boots are sized small and overall they feel very cheap. Very minimal ankle protection or support and the side zip blew out the first time I put them on. Materials used felt very flimsy and cheap.

I`ve had the converse rapid response which was heavy but great boot and set the standard I judge all my boots by. Tried the reebok replacement for the converse not so good . had the Mcrae`s which is also a great boot just not super durable unless you have a few pairs . I had some Danner`s that I sent back, not comfortable even with an insole. Also redwings .Wolverines Diehards all good but... anyway I purchased these on a whim because they where on sale despite the neg reviews and Man I am so glad I DID ! These boots are the best of all the boots I`ve tried bar none , they are light they are stable they are secure and ventilate amazingly and are out of the box comfortable , Requiring only a little break in time before your good to go and provide you the confidence they promise you in the description of this boot . Add an upgraded insole of your choice and it takes these boots to a class of its own . The speed lacing system is second to none and allows you to shape the boot to exactly to your desired fit along with easy on and off and should be the standard by all manufactures. I can not understand why there would be any any neg comments about these boots . The only neg I have is that don't seem to be available any more . Damn shame . Top shelf product find your self a pair where ever you can you will not be disappointed .

    • Ridge Air-Tac Ghost Zipper ST

    • Would have been great... but the zippers.
      Reviewer: Dani N.

I've worn these boots from anywhere on average of 10-14 hours a day when working without a complaint of comfort. Possibly the most comfortable boot I've ever worn, even with them being a ST boot. Break in period took about a month to fully get them molded to my feet for absolute comfort, not a problem. The only major gripe I have with these is the horrid device Ridge has called a zipper that they built in with the boots. The zipper quality and build is so bad, that in not only in 5 months have they broken, I'm looking for a different pair of boots; and in addition looking for a boot repair to do some custom work on fixing this zipper issue. If Ridge put actual high quality zippers that would pull apart from the nylon they were sewn onto, then I'd consider buying them again. But because of the zippers, Ridge has left an odd taste that I may not go to again. Looking into more expensive but milspec boots for my next venture.
