    • Awesome bag but it could be better

Overall the bag holds up as advertised. The laptop compartment holds my 15.6” gamer laptop almost perfectly, it’s just a little snug at the entrance. The main compartment of the bag is spacious, and opens completely up so you can pack everything exactly the way you want. The two mesh pouches in the main compartment zip up and I usually stick quick access medical gear inside or something small(fleece cap, sunglasses cleaner, etc.). The outer ouch with the Velcro i use for extra patches and my sunglasses just because the fleece lined pouch near the handle doesn’t have much support so I don’t want my lenses to break. The bottom dump pouch I use for my pens, random stationary items, playing cards and various smaller items. There is also an internal zip up portion between the pouch and bag exterior which I put my folded up Jolly Roger flag into but it can be used for many more items than that. The two dump pouches on the side can be used for really anything, typically I’ll put an Oakley sunglasses case in one and use the other for electronic cords for my laptop/phone. As far as negatives go there aren’t too many. The tightening straps on the end are pretty flimsy, they tear off at the sewn on area but it doesn’t damage the bag, I’ve been using the bag for over a year now and they’re just now coming apart so I can’t complain too much. The molle webbing on the outside is pretty tough but you can’t add too many pouches unless you want your bag to be overly bulky, the side webbing is also difficult because it makes accessing the side pouches a pain in the ass. If this bag had hip straps I could honestly use if for pretty much anything, I was planning on hooking up a random battle belt to it for the added support as well as more storage for smaller pouches but I have yet to do so. All in all if you’re using this bag for a daily carry then I highly recommend it. So far it’s the toughest and most dependable bag I’ve ever owned so I have to tip my hat to tru-spec because I couldn’t be happier with this bag aside from the minor issues I’ve had. I apologize for the organization of this review, I’m getting ready for work while writing this, hopefully it helps though.

I replaced a 3 day assault pack from another manufacturer. My biggest worry was that I would lose out on size. I was wrong. I realized afterward that the perceived size difference was due to the add on pouches I had added to my old pack. I use this pack at work to carry a change of uniform, toiletries, water bottle, and snacks. I added two 30rd AR Mag pouches to carry my water bottles. I can see using this bag as a carry on for short trips. For a bonus, this is the most comfortable I have carried in a very long time. The only down side is that CCW compartment in kidney area. It's too small for a large frame auto as well as being difficult to get to at need. I'll be using that large computer pocket instead. Bottom line: this pack was well worth the money.

I moved the same items out of my old backpack into this new one and wow!!! It feels lighter. I think The distribution of the weight makes it seem lighter. I love this bag.
