Tru-Spec Nylon / Cotton Ripstop Boonie Hat

Great Hat ...

The hat fits as advertised - if you usually wear a 7 3/4, then the XL is the right size. Hat fits comfortably on my head, and the chin-strap should keep it secure, even during windy days in the Everglades (!).

Tru-Spec M-65 Field Jacket with Liner

An Excellent Field Jacket

I prefer the Tru-Spec brand over other popular labels because the clothing fits me the best. I usually purchase XL/L outer-wear to compensate for undergarments, shirts, and other jackets/coats. I did the same for this particular Field Jacket, but as it turned out, the XL/L fit more like an 2XL/R. That's not a complaint - it's just that the jacket ran a bit larger than I had anticipated (in this case, a L/L would have sufficed). The sizing issue has been the "exception to the rule", so to speak - usually "over-compensation" works for TRU-SPEC outerwear (FYI - keep in mind when considering this particular garment vs. others from the same line). The jacket itself is great, and I'll probably order a size down in the future.

Tru-Spec H2O Proof Gen 2 ECWCS Parka

Nearly-Perfect Parka ...

My Tru-Spec Parka (XL/L) fits perfectly (over a t-shirt and a uniform/tactical coat; since the label tends to run "big", I compensated for the "bulk" element). I love the fit, as well as the overall quality of the parka. Why 4-stars vs. five? I wish the cuffs featured a combination Velcro/Button closing system; my only concern is that with time, the Velcro may wear out @ some point (depending on usage). IF that happens, I can always replace the Velcro, or else have a seamstress add buttons/button holes. In sum, though, I'm very pleased (so far, at least) with the purchase - the fit is secure-yet-flexible, the zipper is strong, the snap-closures are practically seamless, and the parka's lining is well-padded.
