Uniform Fabric Guide

Uniform Fabric Guide

When your uniform is uncomfortable or ill-suited for your environment, your mind isn't on your mission—and that's a huge problem. Spending a little time putting thought into your clothing's fabric can prevent this. Breathability, reliability and performance should all be factors in choosing a material.

With so many options on the market, it can be hard to decide which to select! Lucky for you, we're here to help you make the right decision for your needs. Here are some questions to consider:

  1. Do I want a ripstop or a twill weave?
Ripstop weaves are specifically designed to resist and reduce tears and abrasions. Twill weaves are the most pliable and minimize the appearance of soils and stains.

  2. What climate will I be using my item(s) in?
Certain fabrics are better suited for hot and cold climates based on their weight per square yard. The colder your environment, the heavier you’ll want your fabric. If you'll be in a warmer environment, avoid getting overheated by choosing a breathable lightweight fabric.

Once you've answered these preliminary questions, you’re ready to choose a fabric. We've broken down the different uniform fabric blends for you.
