Second pair of mantras. Best shoe ever.
Reviewer: Stewie | Hilo
Had a pair of the original mantras a couple years ago and they were the most waterproof shoes I've owned. They held up well through lots of use and abuse from hiking in the Rockies to dish washing in a restaurant where feet are bound to get wet. The mantra 2.0 seems up to the task as well, plus its a bit more stylish in my opinion. It's comfortable out of the box and has seen a week of use zip line guiding in Hawaii where it rains at least once every few days. This shoe is worthy as a sturdy hiker and comfortable and stylish enough to be worn as casually as sneakers. So far this is the best all around waterproof hiker I've found and I'm picky about my shoes. Fits true to size.
About Vasque Mantra 2.0 GTX
Deceptively attractive, the Vasque Mantra may look great, but do not discount its functionality. Although it weighs less than two pounds, its Ananasi sole and athletic fit perform well on long hikes. Super lightweight, the breathable upper is made of Nubuck leather and airmesh. Additionally, the upper allows the shoe to move with the foot and will not allow for excess torsion of the ankle. The molded EVA midsole provides an extra measure of comfort for the wearer. As Vasque's number one selling crossover shoe, the Mantra will look good on anyone's foot, yet will perform well on a variety of terrains—both manmade and natural.
While traveling through the European continent in the mid-1960s, William Sweasy realized that the backpacking and hiking craze that had hit there would soon make its way to the United States. Focusing on the path that lay ahead, Sweasy quickly began developing a line of quality mountaineering and hiking boots. His preparation was not in vain. With an extensive selection of men’s and women’s hiking footwear, dedicated nature explorers will find styles tailored for their specific activities. Vasque has come far from its first boot, the Voyageur, and continuously challenges hikers to step out into the next big outdoor adventure.
