    • Nice boots! Comfortable and stylish

Got these for winter and recreation wear. Love the brown and black. Great looking, and super comfortable. The low back makes it wear more like a high top, but the sides give you a bit more ankle support. Well made and didn't notice anything amiss.

The product is nothing but junk. I thought that Bates boots were nice but that's not right. I got the Bates Shock FX WP. The inside backs of the boot liners broke down after two days worn.

    • Blade Runner Boots for the real world

Ok, I have to admit, Blade Runner 2049 made me buy these boots. It is not this shoe specifically that was in the movie, however these have a similar and more practical design. I tried on a pair at a local retailer and just loved the fit and comfort! The boot is light weight for a work boot, and it feels like wearing sneakers with the double insoles. The bottom insole has a softer/gel type and the top one is more supportive, and they both work together to absorb impact on every step. The toe box is very roomy for your feet and the boot is true to size. I did a 7.76 mile all-terrain hike over the weekend and these boots did marvelous. It was a dirt trail turned into dead waterfall riverbed with rocks/boulder climbing with a little bit traversing over standing water and these boots took it all with ease and comfort. They have great ankle support while maintaining good articulation for hiking thru uneven terrain. Love these boots! I can't stop Instagraming these!

This is the first pair of Bates boots I've purchased. So far they are very comfortable. One thing I noticed is to wear thick socks, this enhances the comfort. Will wearing a thinner pair of athletic socks, I noticed some discomfort.

Got these for work (tree-climber). So far, they've been perfect for the 3 months I've had them for autumn to winter work. Waterproof, warm, durable, light, flexible and best of all- super comfortable! I like them so much I feel compelled to write online reviews!

Seriously, just buy the boots. Bought my first pair in Coyote, loved 'em so bought these. Not to mention, Bates changes styles every year or 2.

I've always had Bates boots. Seems the fitment is always spot-on, never a concern. Great arch support. In my personal experience as a Marine Tech, 1 pair lasts me on average 3-years until a side blows out & the bottom cracks open, which is usually because I run 'em bald. They are under constant exposure to soaking wet, scorching heat & frigid cold. My recent experience going from Delta's with the adjustable heel puck, to the Shock FXWP wasn't too bad. The first pair I got had a defective tongue in the right foot. They sent me a replacement pair right away, with the new pair being perfect. Obviously an isolated incident. The boots are on week #2 and are just about broke in. Not as much cushion in the Heel as I'm used to with the older Delta's, but I think can be resolved with some inserts. All in all..very happy as per usual. This site is a great company & Bates boots are well worth the investment. And let's just face it, they are bada$$ lookin' . JUST BUY THE BOOTS.

My feet do get hot during the day but it's because of the water proofing membrane. This is also a very light boot. Would get these again!

First off your company has good C.S. but shipping is pretty slow. Order directly from bates for faster delivery. For casual wear these are great . If you are working in them depending what you do will predict their life? I worked for ups for 31 years and have had 3 pairs of bates for summer shoes and I could completely smoke the sole flat in 6 months. Leather and laces were fine. Bates are light and comfy but there soles dont hold up Best boot out there is Irish setter trust me winter and summer you can't kill them!

    • Out of the box they're great, but time will tell.
      Reviewer: Taylor Rhyne

First off, let me say that I absolutely love bates and my review is likely going to be very biased. I wore Bates Lites in the marines and I absolutely fell in love with them, to the point that when the soles began to crack I superglued them back together. These boots look and feel great out of the box, but beware, the sizing is going to be weird seeing as the bates website advertises them to have a waterproof boogie construction. I ordered a half size up as a caution a was not disappointed. However, I believe that given time, they will definitely stretch and "wear" in and I'll have to start wearing thicker socks. I also will likely get some new insoles for them because they don't feel too great on the soles of the feet right out of the box. Overall, they're light and comfy, but do need new insoles, and be cautious with the sizing. I personally don't mind wearing thicker socks and insoles, so if you don't mind if either, I'd do a half size up.
