Vasque boots are built for anything that involves a trail, including performance hiking, mountaineering, trail running and backpacking. The company started in the early 1960s when Red Wing Shoes owner William D. Sweasy noticed a booming trend in Europe–mountaineering. Europeans had enjoyed exploring the outdoors for ages, but the advancements in hand-crafted outdoor footwear inspired by the Alps made it possible for people to go farther, stay out longer and push the limits of exploration. Sweasy returned to the U.S. determined to enkindle this same adventurous spirit in Americans. He opened Vasque boots in 1964. By the mid-1970s, mountaineering started to take off and Vasque boots grew with it. Today, Vasque crafts performance footwear with comfort and innovative technology perfect for your next outdoor adventure.
