1. Waist

Measure around waist, where you normally wear your pants. Measure over shirt, but not over slacks or belt.

2. Hip

Measure at the fullest part of your hips. Make sure tape is comfortable and not too tight.

3. Inseam

Measure from the crotch along inseam leg to desired length. (Wear the shoes you intend to wear the pants with.) If you have a similar pair of well-fitting pants, lay them flat, measure along inseam from crotch to bottom of hem.

Small waist, limited movement

So these are the only pants within policy for the team I'm on. And that sucks. Compared to other pants at this price point, these will limit your movement. There is zero stretch to the fabric and that could have been overcome through good engineering, but that's not what happened with Vertx. The crotch is too low, so running or squatting is how imagine it might be in a pencil skirt. Your thighs are bound up. This is exacerbated by the fact that, across our entire agency, we find that you need to order 3 sizes bigger than typical in the waist. They are durable and the pockets aren't bad. Bottom line, buy 5.11 Strykes if you aren't bound by policy to this pant. If you are required to buy them, I'd try +3 on the waist measurement. No hate here, just trying to be helpful.

These are my favorite pants of all time!

Stain resistant, ample pockets and security for all my needs and wishes. I don’t even like waring jeans anymore. The shorts are great too!

Great, but they run small

I typically wear 34x32 pants, which fit fairly loosely and allow for iwb carry easily. I figured these would be the same way. Unfortunately these pants are so tight that they fit like 31 inch waisted pants.

I was disappointed in this product.

The fabric was extremely rough and scratchy and not soft at all. I can not imagine ever wearing these pants.
