I am an asphalt oiler, put boots through 2 summers of HOT GRULING work. They vented fine, wore like sneakers, gave good support, soles wore faster than Im used to. Comfortable good boot.

    • Great boot, Traction not so much

These boots are excellent. They're lightweight, they breath pretty well (a little bit on the hot side but not unreasonably so), and they dry out quick. I wore the standard Desert Boots for a while, but my feet are weird, and those aren't comfortable for me. Finally got these (and a second pair of Bellevilles because I liked these so much), which was a good decision. The one problem with them is the outsole doesn't get very good traction in some conditions.

I was in Kandahar province with these boots very comfortable and almost no break in needed. However, outer soles and tread wore down very fast within 4 months and sustained heel pain after wearing these. If you get these boots invest in some additional heel padding

Best boot I have worn in 3.5 years downrange. Light and comfortable, they broke in fast and seem to wear well, however, as a lighter rubber sole, they will wear faster on concrete and rough terrain than the old style. I didn't notice the excessive heat, it's hot in Kandahar with any boot. Expect about a six month wear-out if you hump loads or a lot of miles in them.

These boots are very comfortable and don't wear too fast. They tend to get a little warm after awhile though.
