I ordered a Serpa L2 for my Sig P-229 and was very happy with it. It was smooth, rattle free, and secure. I decided to order the same Serpa L2 for my Sig P-226 and am very disappointed. Unlike the P-229, the P226 is hard to insert and hard to extract after the release button is pressed. I would not recommend this holster for Sig P-226 use.
Best holster I have ever owned!

Got my new Serpa last week and I have fell in love with this thing. The only problem I have had has been when taking it off at the end of the day the little hook on the paddle will catch on clothing so you have to kind of hold it out a little to get the holster off. But having said that this is what keeps someone from taking it away from you in the event of a struggle. I didn't think this was enough not to give this a 5 star
Could not ask for more

Oh Boy (or Girl) here we go...
I have read several reviews regarding the danger of this holster, and have seen it outlawed from some groups because according to them it was unsafe which to me is total B.S. I believe (and this is after about three years of using the holster regularly) that the fault lies in both the reward system these groups have in place and the ineptitude of the shooter!
These groups are centered around speed (who is the fastest) with little true concern for safety.. As anyone who has learned properly, you start slow and progress slowly as far as speed, with SAFETY being Paramount.
Many shooters I see really push themselves into the danger zone and will continue to have ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGES AS LONG AS THE FOCUS IS AS IT IS.NOW.
There is a good Flash Video on the topic of drawing from this holster on YouTube should anyone care (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5u1LhUvAouY). As the video says, it is the improper action of the shooter that causes the problem. Another secret to the speed issue is to avoid being tensed up, Again these groups let the shooter "Get Ready" before the "Buzzer" so to speak. Right now the scenarios are bogus in my opinion, and when real stress is added , the results are obvious. But then again, we blame the equipment instead of ourselves don't we.
I would like to know how many people who have done the requisite 3,00 to 3500 repetitions for correct muscle memory have had this issue appear.
Excellent advanced retention

I've carried my Kimber 1911 in this holster for about a year and a half. I agree that the lock is clumsy at first. Practice, practice, practice and then practice some more.

Left handed with a SR9c unfortunately for me Blackhawk doesn't feel the need to include us lefties in the SERPA clud, at least not when it comes to the SR9.
With that said, I LOVE the SERPA I've gotten for my G23. Just a bit miffed I can't get one for the SR9. Hoping this will change with the popularity of the SR9.

Great solid holster,I like how it locks in so no worry's about losing it or someone snatching your weapon.Comfortable to wear, the only down side is there is no compartment to hold your extra magazine, which arguable some might say is unnecessary,But to me its a must. Its one of those things that if you needed it you would want it at quick access. Fits my Ruger sr9 perfectly.
Great Holster, but BEWARE !!!!!

Great Holster !!! BUT: You MUST practice your Pistol DRAWS by smooth, consistent Release Button technique. Nice Locked-In-Pistol feature for weapon security AIN'T SO GREAT during adrenaline dump when you go All-Thumbs-a-Bumblin and experience total loss of your fine motor skills... Personally I don't favor gadgets that complicate matters when an imminent threat appears. I want NOTHING between me and my pistol in private citizen/concealed carry mode. On-Duty In-Uniform where a dirtbag may attempt a Gun-Grab of my service pistol is a whole different equation. What is your application for this holster ?? is the relevant question here.
He LOVES it!

I recently bought this holster as a gift for my boyfriend. He is thrilled with it. I had to wait for a very long time to get the one that fits his gun, but he absolutely loves it. He especially likes the fact that his gun is "locked" in. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a great holster.
