The 6PX Tactical is just that—a flashlight designed specifically for tactical use. Providing simplicity of operation and tremendous illuminating power in a small package, it uses a high-efficiency LED—virtually immune to failure since there's no filament to burn out or break—to generate a brilliant, penetrating, perfectly pre-focused 200-lumen beam. The 6PX is activated by SureFire's classic tactical tailcap switch—press for momentary-on, twist for constant-on. The high-strength aerospace aluminum body is smoothly sculpted for a secure grip and is hard anodized to military specifications for extreme resistance to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion. A polycarbonate micro-textured reflector delivers a comparatively wider beam with generous peripheral light. SureFire also make a polymer-body version of this light, the G2X Tactical, and a dual-output version with a two-stage click-type tailcap switch, the 6PX Pro.

About SureFire
- The tale of SureFire can be traced back to 1969, when Dr. John Matthews established the Newport Corporation. Dedicated to harnessing laser power for industrial uses, the company soon grew to be a leader in the field. After much success, Matthews turned his attention to his hobby of shooting and developed the first laser sight, which would lead to the founding of Laser Products. It quickly grew after loaning the L.A. SWAT Team laser-sighted shotguns for security at the 1984 Olympic Games. Years of working with law enforcement agencies led to the first SureFire weapon-mounted flashlight. Armed with this advantage, tactical and military operations have never been the same.

Of the three SureFire lights I own, this is by far the best. However, lacks the Crystal Lens incorporated on the prior model lights of this price level.

This little light is powerful, especially when you take into account the size- 5.2 inches- and the value for the price- under 100 bucks for a 200 lumen light. The main reason I purchased this light is the ease of operation. Click-it's on. Twist-constant-on. In a tactical situation you need a reliable light not a strobe or a decreased intensity beam. Those features do have there uses, but for my money I want a high intensity light housed in mil-spec anodized aluminum and that's exactly what you get with the 6PX Tactical.

Very good tactical flashlight for police or military use or home defense. The flashlight stays in momentary on mode (must keep finger on the button) unless the tailcap is turned, and only has one mode -- high. Very useful if you hear a noise and wake up in the middle of the night and need to check the house and don't want to fumble with a light that has a more complex operation. However, you really need to press hard on the button in momentary on mode to keep the light on. Light goes off very easily if you reduce pressure on the switch even slightly. Overall a very solid product. If you don't need the light for "tactical" purposes, get the non-tactical model with different modes.

This is a great flashlight! Great flashlight for the money. I bought one at first, then came back a week or two later and ordered an additional one. This ia a majorly bright light, out shines any of the incandeccent lights i have had in the past. This model has the tactical cap, this meant that it is momentary with the push button, for continous use just twist the tailcap. Great light.
