5.11 applies the durable, rugged construction of their tactical boots to an athletic shoe with optimal shock absorption and lightweight comfort. The 5.11 Ranger is a high-performance training shoe with a breathable nylon ripstop, nubuck and polymer mesh upper and a tough rubber outsole for all-terrain training. The cushioned polyurethane midsole provides arch support and heel stability, while the removable OrthoLite insole adds extra cushioning and comfort. There is an 8 millimeter heel-to-toe drop designed specifically to increase acceleration and shoe responsiveness when running. Hidden toe reinforcements along the front of the shoe ensure a secure fit and the widened forefoot promotes toe splaying for added balance.
