Danner has designed the ultra-versatile 8" Tachyon to be the ultimate lightweight duty boot. The rough-out leather and 500 denier nylon upper reduces excess weight and enhances environmental protection for optimal performance and flexibility. The Tachyon rubber outsole provides superior traction on any terrain and is slip-resistant for added utility. An EVA midsole absorbs shock for softer landings, and the open cell polyurethane footbed promotes ventilation. The speed lace system makes taking the boot on and off easy, but still maintains a secure, comfortable fit. The nylon shank delivers torsional rigidity and heel security as well. If you're looking for rugged, comfortable AR 670-1 compliant footwear, you can't go wrong with this boot.

Very lightweight boot. Bought for trail work in hot weather. Walked through shallow water and they stayed fairly dry.

These boots are extremely lightweight.

These boots are extremely lightweight. I ordered a size 13 wide and I have an adequate amount of room for a change, if they were available in half’ sizes they would be perfect. I did give the boots a few coats of water proof spray to help stay clean and last longer. So far so good with these boots, I am coming from 5. 11 boot line up and I am going to switch over to Danners as of now. These are not my first pair of danner boots are my first pair of tactical danners.

Love these boots! They're light

Love these boots! They're light like running shoes rather than heavy and clunky like a lot of other boots. I have slightly wider feet, so certain other brands that run narrower are not options for me, but these fit just fine. My one complaint would be that the laces are too short. It's hard to tie them and then tuck them out of sight (military dress and appearance), so I have to order longer laces to replace the ones that come with. Overall though, these are my favorite boots.

Nice fit, design and profile. A little heavier than anticipated with a stiff heel that can cause a little discomfort but may improve as it matures. Scuffs easily but no major issues so far. .

This is my second pair

This is my second pair which I use for hot humid weather here in Florida with thin socks, size 8. 5. First pair is a size 9, which I use for “winter” with thick socks. Super lightweight, no break-in, can wear all day on concrete. Most days I leave them on after work cause they’re so comfortable.

As a Veteran this is an Outstanding product. Worth the price. Light weight and breathable for the summer heat. Wide design is adequate for my 4E foot not quite wide enough but nothing usually is. Highly recommend.
