Stable and secure under load. Confidence inspiring

Did some weighted pack hikes familiarizing myself with the pack before doing a fairly heavy 3 night 35 mile expedition style solo backpack through the Jennie Lakes Wilderness. The pack felt secure and adjustable through lots of elevation gain and loss with climbing over deadfall and scrambling talus and scree. I did feel like I was at the limit of the waist band even though I was well within the recommended margin for sizing.

Great Pack

Bought this pack a couple weeks ago. I have not had a chance to use this yet, but am planning on using it for a Western Elk hunt in November. Was extremely impressed with the quality and weight of the pack right out of the box. Super light and sturdy. Fits very well with lots of adjustments. Looking forward to using it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great pack

So far I have not been able to test the meat hauling capabilities but did get to use it for a short backpacking trip and it worked really well. Loaded the pack weighed 40lbs and handled the weight well. I did notice some slight squeaking from the frame though it wasn’t too bad. The squeak went away after I set up camp and lighted the pack. Compared to cheaper packs I have had in the past this bag seems to be a major upgrade. I expect this to last a very long time.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this for day trip cow elk hunts. The pack seems great. I haven't been able to use it a lot but its comfortable and easy to adjust on the move. Storage seems adequate and accessible with the top and side access.

Very comfortable pack!

I bought this pack as an alternative to my current one (too many pressure points on it). I had been referred to Mystery Ranch by an outfitter and found the Metcalf 75 an excellent upgrade. I just got back from an elk hunt where (as usual) we all carried a ton of weight, but mine was the most comfortable pack of the group. Easy to distribute hind quarters, separate your gear from the meat and still had room for the rifle alongside. Only downside might be the lack of built in small pouches on the waist belt. I know you can add them if needed and I may do that. All in all, would highly recommend this pack. It is nice and light, but also very stable.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Backcountry Pack

I purchased the Metcalf 75 to retire and older hunting bag. I am impressed with how thought-out the design is, from the adjustable clips to the loading shelf the Metcalf delivers. I haven't used the bag for any overnight hunts, however I've taken it miles into the backcountry on several day hunts. It is a seriously comfortable pack, especially around mile 12 when you don't want a pack on at all. All torso and weight bearing adjustments are easy to use. you can sinch the bag down tight keeping all of your internal gear from moving and quiet. i would highly recommend this bag.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Amazing pack

I wanted to upgrade my hunting pack this year, since my old internal frame pack was very inefficient carrying heavy loads. Hunted 10 days with this pack so far this season, all day trips. The 75 is still nimble enough on short day trips, yet it performed very well when having to lug around gear for cold weather hunting and packing out heavy with elk quarters. This pack has lots of features while still maintaining a minimalist nature. Love this pack!

Yes, I recommend this product.
