MEASURE YOUR FEET
Wear the type of socks you'll wear with your shoes and measure feet in the afternoon (feet typically swell during the day). Distribute weight evenly before measuring.

1. Stand up straight on a hard surface with your heel against the wall and a piece of blank paper taped to the floor, flush against the wall beneath your foot.
2. Have someone mark the longest part of your foot (referred to as heel-to-toe length) on the paper with a pen or pencil, or measure yourself if necessary. Repeat with the other foot, as right and left sizes may be different.
3. Use a ruler to measure the heel-to-toe length you marked for each foot.

They're super light and they feel real good on the sole. But the heels are killing me. I don't know if I have to break them in even more or what. But there is a hard part right on the heel that's causing it to rub against my achilles tendon. Hopefully one they're full broken in, that part gets more soft. Other than that, it's a great boot.

I’m in Army ROTC and I got these boots so I wouldn’t have to use the standard issue pair. My first time wearing them, I went on a 10 mile ruck march around campus and I got a few pretty bad blisters. I suggest double socking and making sure you tighten the boots so that your ankle is locked in. Once they are broken in though, they are remarkably comfortable. They feel like a Nike free running shoe and it doesn’t even seem like you’re wearing a boot. I definitely suggest these.

I bought these boots about 2 weeks ago and on one hand, these boots are very comfortable (if you’re not doing anything) very, VERY light and very good-looking. On the other, I can tell they are going to take FOREVER to break-in. The sides are super stiff and will cause chafing and blisters the first couple of times you wear them, and this site says to buy small, BUT DO NOT, they are true to size. Plenty of traction from the sole and the eyelets lock your laces nice and tight at the forefoot. Overall I love the look of this boot and the form factor, but do not buy if you aren’t prepared to get some blisters.

    • Good boots for Garrison
      Reviewer: Anthony

      9/6/2018

They are good boots for a garrison environment, very cush, kind of like a running shoe feel. I've had them for 3 months now swapping them between my older nike boot. So far they have held up but do make an annoying squeak sound on tile, the material on the tongue is also allot thicker than I'm used to. The thickness makes it so you cant feel the laces but makes them more like a winter boot for me, I have hot wet feet. They are on the taller side, I've actually had some people ask if they were tanker boots when I first started wearing them. For what they are they are good, I wouldn't use them for extensive field operations or rucking. They fit a little bit larger than the SFB, but not enough to size down; would most likely cause blisters because of it on long walks (I'm talking miles). I overall do recommend them but I'll be tossing them and getting a different brand soon.

I bought these in Oct 2017 and wore them once before resorting back to the issued ones I received from Basic training because they hurt the back of my ankles so badly. I completely forgot about them until last week so I wore them for three days to try breaking them in and the backs of my feet are destroyed with huge blisters. I wish I returned them for a different style when I still had a chance. Now I've worn them a total of 4 days and I'm stuck with them.

      Reviewer: David A.

      8/3/2018

I just recently purchased this boot. I love the way they look but only wore them twice. TWICE? WHY? Well, I'm assuming whoever manufactured/stitched this boot together probably put the wrong parts on the bottom half of the boot! These things after being placed up were SUPER tight around my ankles. I DO NOT have fat ankles so that cant be the reason. It LITERALLY rubbed the back of BOTH my ankles RAW! I refused to wear these boots. I will be contacting this site and hopefully they will replace these boots for another pair.

      Reviewer: Sergio C

      7/22/2018

Great industrial design and very comfortable soles but: NOT meant for heavy duty walking with heavy loads. Not at all. The situation around the achilles tendon and the ankles is really bad, I can't even see how it would break in. It's just wrong shape - cuts into your ankles and no room for the achilles tendon. And there's zero lateral heel support. The top loops are too wide for speedlace - no matter how big the knots on the paracord are they would slip through the loops. If they put those plastic thingies on the top loops, like what they have in the middle, it could be usable. Right now I use them to walk around in the city but I would never try to wear them on a serious march like we used to do in the army (I used to be a machinegunner in the Israeli Givati unit). It wouldn't work, your feet would bleed.

    • Getting Better After Two Weeks
      Reviewer: Hollie McCaleb

      7/15/2018

After the first day of wearing these Nike boots, I was thinking about sending them back. They’re comfortable everywhere except on the back of the heel and on my left big toe area. That heel part was digging into my skin pretty badly on both feet- left red marks on my heel/Achilles area. After two weeks, it’s getting better, but I’m still not impressed. The spot on the left boot, right around my big toe area is worse when I lace them as tight as I need to. I feel a lump in the material that DTS worse as I tighten the boot. I think Nike cut corners with these, and for as much money as a pair of Jordan’s, they should be as comfortable! I’ll give them another week for good measure, but they shouldn’t need three weeks break in time! Note: If your foot/heel shape is perfect for these boots, and you don’t get a bad one with the lump like my left boot, these will be comfortable right out of the box.

      6/11/2018

I am an old SEAL Team guy and I've been running Spartan races wearing the Gen 1 boots. The new lining in the Gen 2 boot carries more water and tends to feel "sloppy" . The Gen 2 boot also makes my feet hot during running more than the Gen 1. The Gen 2 size runs a little bigger, which is probably more true to actual size 10 than the Gen 1. Not trying to complain, just trying to give meaningful feedback from my type of use.

      Reviewer: Marie

      5/17/2018

I have the "old" Nikes, Rocky s2v, and now these. I love both Nikes because they're great for everyday walking around wear. They rub in the same spot as my old ones (right above the heel, where cloth meets leather). However, with such a small foot, I find that all boots rub. I am usually a 6.5-7 (36EU), and I went with the 5.5. The 6 would have been a little better, but they were out. Definitely keeping them, though. Light as a feather!

      5/1/2018

I bought these thinking they would be lighter and more comfortable than my 5.11 tac boots, and I learned after the first week and a half that I should’ve just stuck with the 5.11’s. If you like blisters on your heels and toes, if you like your feet to hurt all day, and if you like your feet to be drenched in sweat at the end of the day, then this is the boot for you. Total waste of my hard earned $160.

These boots look really good and are lightweight. However, they are terrible for running in. They give shin splints faster than your regular army issued boots. Also my ankle is all blistered up because of the way the back of the boot rubs against it. Terrible pair of boots and definitely don’t recommend in the field or for any sort of training.

      Reviewer: Mackenzie Draves

      3/2/2018

Overall this would be a great boot for me and exactly what I want. They are light, cushion is great, the laces are smoother so after many days in the field my hands aren’t sore while tying them. My ONLY complaint, the heel portion is a higher/harder part of the fabric and it pushes into my upper heel. No blisters (yet) but redness and sore on my Achilles area. Obviously you can’t return boots once warn, and can’t break in boots without wearing, so I’m hoping in time they break in more.

Had a few manufacturer defects, nothing major. I ordered one size to small so I’m in the process or a return/exchange. I would have returned them for an exchange regardless or the size issue due to the defects thoug.

Lightest and most comfortable boot I have yet to wear. Feels like I’m wearing tennis shoes to work. Sizing runs a little narrow and small. I followed the sizing chart and was glad I rounded up to the next size.

But your own size! I read the reviews and bought a half size bigger then what I normally wear, don’t do it!! They are great boots, the shipping was fast, but the boots are too big. Just order your actual size.

These boots are the best boots I have ever had. They are lightweight. If you are a girl make sure you go by the recommended size on the chart. Usually I am a 5.5 on men, the chart said 6. Thank God I went with the chart and it was the perfect size for me. I am a 7.5 on women's.

I was skeptical on purchasing through tactical gear since it was my first time hearing about the company but they delivered as promised and earlier. Boots are extremely comfortable they feel just like Nike training running shoes. I've owned Rocky c4, Danners, Reebok, and previous SFB nikes and by far the most comfortable shoes. You don't need any soles and don't have to worry about breaking in. Highly recommend. Thanks Tactical Gear!!!!! Definitely have a new customer that will recommend please and keep you in mind for future purchases.

I’m only leaving this review in hopes it will help somebody make the right purchase! I’m a female and I usually wear a 7.5 in regular shoes and I had read some reviews that said these run small and to order a half size bigger, so I did :( I ordered a 6.5 and was disappointed for them to fit pretty big. I have the first generation nikes and I usually order a 6. These run true to size for me and the laces don’t seem to be a problem either. I ended up exchanging them for a size 6

I ordered these boots because my issued ones were just too uncomfortable even after 3 weeks of trying to break them in. With these you are ready to go as soon as you put them on. I wear a 6 1/2 or 7 in women’s and I ordered the 5 1/2. Save your feet and order them!

      11/15/2017

Pros: Incredibly lightweight, flexible, and agile - they feel just like a pair of Nike Free. I did some parkour over rocky mountian terrain and was able to fly right over it with ease. Cons: the laces are a bit harder to tighten/loosen than if they had metal loops, and the laces are quite slippery so you have to double-knot to prevent them from coming untied. The traction on the soles could be better, but the added agility makes up for it in my opinion.

    • The true Successor to the Gen 1 SFB
      Reviewer: Daniel Velasquez

      11/7/2017

So it's been about 3 weeks since I received my boots and I can honestly say that they were worth the purchase. The first week was rough while I broke them in but after that, it was smooth sailing. They are even more comfortable than my old pair of Gen 1 SFB which I used for almost 6 years. The overall design is a much added improvement over its predecessor. The sightly thicker ankle and leg supporter helps a lot with overall support while still keeping its flexibility. As for the sole's new design, I get a better feel and more comfort than the Gen 1 SFB. I may be out of the military, but I still wear my combat boots and I will most likely continue to follow the Nike SFB's and wear them.

      Reviewer: DK

      10/22/2017

Over 13 years active duty military, I usually wear Danners but decided to give these a try. Fits is similar to Nike running shoe size. The fit and function reminds me of a jungle boot, mainly because the boot neck above the ankle is very thin, not solid. Worst aspect is the leather digs into my ankle on the right boot and a bit on the top of the heel, even when laced with different tightness. I'm going to try to break them in but was surprised I even had to worry about breaking them in. If it weren't for this issue I'd give them a 5.

I ordered my regular size. Fit like a glove. I have worn Combat Boots for the last 13 years since my 2 sons enlisted. I figured as long as they wore them, I would do the same. These Nikes are as light as the Oakley SF I finally wore out. I am looking forward to giving them a workout in my job as a Construction Inspector. So far, so good...
