Problem with my Ankle

Over the last few years, I have bought two pairs of the boot shown in the second picture; I love them! About a month ago I bought the pair in picture one. I am planning to hike Mt Kilimanjaro in September using these boots, but they’re killing the inside of my left snkle (picture three). Help!!! I notice that the new boots are perhaps an inch higher on my leg and appear to be stiffer than the old boots. The old boots required zero breaking in; the new ones have caused issues every time I wear them.

This is my fourth pair of Quest Gortex. The first pair were the most comfortable boot I had ever worn. Since then they have not been as comfortable but still good. They last me about 2 1-2 years before needing replaced. I still recommend and have at least three other coworkers wearing them and satisfied.

I recommend them for anyone that's in Law Enforcement easy to break in they are true to size and the price is well worth it!

These mid cut boot are comfortable and dont hurt my feet while wearing them all day. As far as the 8 inch version of these, i returned them due to them hurting my ankles

Black is not "Black"

Great fitting, super comfortable boots, no question. I wanted non Gore-tex boots for the summer and the lack of liner helps, but they still retain a lot of heat. I love the boot lace garage, though.
The Forces sole is much better than the traditional sole of the non-Forces 4D (without the perforated lugs) however, I wish Salomon would just cave and go with Vibram already.
My biggest gripe with these boots is the coloring / dye of the leather. It's almost like a dark gray/blue vs. traditional "duty black." My department allows us to wear non-polishable boots and I chose these, however, when worn with our black uniforms, they stick out as not being jet black. No one has said anything to me about them, but my OCD has me rethinking.
Also, Salomon, if you're out there, enough either the 700K' boot laces; they're unmanageable!

Expensive boots that don’t last. Had them 6 months and the soles are beginning to separate.
Lacing is not user friendly (no standard clip eyelets)
Would not recommend.

I got these pair back in November and the tow box area is starting to rip it has not even been six months yet. Also the outsole of the shoe is coming off too. Would not recommend.

This is probably my fourth pair of Forces GTX after the Quest GTX 2 got me through some gnarly Afghanistan and training cycles. LOVED those boots. First pair of Forces in law enforcement were great. Every pair since has worn down faster, leaked sooner and had worse laces. Thanks to them breaking down so fast, the comfort doesn't last either. I still want to be a die-hard fan and not give these up as my every-day patrol boots, but they aren't the cheapest for the wear I am getting out of them. Also the laces are just awful. Break so fast.
