A classic tactical response uniform appearance combined with modern functionality, the TRU-SPEC Nylon/Cotton Ripstop TRU Coat can handle all the rigors of tactical operations and field work and is durable enough for any situation. Based on the traditional U.S. Army ACU design, this coat features a zippered front placket with a hook and loop closure flap, a mandarin-style collar with a YKK Powerhook closure and a bi-swing back for maximum maneuverability. There are two spacious chest pockets with plenty of space for gear storage and additional shoulder pockets as well. The elbows are reinforced and feature pockets with a hook and loop closure for elbow pad inserts.

I would buy again if the patch strips were already attached!

I love the jacket, however I was extremely put out by the fact that even though their shown attached in the pictures, the Velcro strips for patches are separate. It would have cost me $45 additional to have them sewn on, instead I spent 3 hours doing it myself. Don't show them attached and send them separate, it's false advertisement.

Lost in Translation

The quality of the product and the workmanship or fantastic but the name is very misleading. It said in the Description ( Nylon/Cotton Ripstop TRU Coat) well its a shirt that has a zipper in it. Also is thin so unless you are layering you are going to be cold with this Coat. I guess what I thing is a Coat and what Tru-Spec thinks is a Coat are two different animals. And that is why I gave it Two and a Half Stars.

Quality and sizing are spot on to mil-spec standards. Newer style cut and function with old school M81 pattern.

Great uniform!

While I personally prefer the button closures of the newer uniforms, as well as the Old-School BDU, the TRU is an outstanding uniform that holds up well and provides good lifetime wear.
